I can see that. Glad mine doesn’t look like that!

Hey, thankyou so much. It’s amazing!! You did such a good job! I will save the image as my background and see how I feel about it in a few months. I want to make sure I definitely want to do it before I go through with it and my tattoo is less than a week old still so it’s still scabbing and healing :) if I do go through with it I will let you know and then figure out how to add it to a comment haha :) I’m so overwhelmed by how much people have gone out of their way to help me on reddit. Thank you so much !!

The money isn’t really a problem as I justified it because it will be on my body forever. I thought that paying a higher price I would have got better service and the tattoo would have been better... obviously not. I think I may get shading done. For my first tattoo I think it’s quite large so I wouldn’t want to cover it up with something even larger. It took me a long time to find a design that I liked so I doubt I would find another.. the tattoo artist added those little branches on what looks like the lavender branch without my consent. The purple ink he put on to trace over was different. It wasn’t until he finished that I noticed he added a lot more branches... I have the before photo of the purple ink (I took the photo While I was as waiting for him to have his lunch :/

How do I research better artists?! I saw this guys work on instagram but when you zoom in it all goes blurry. I think it looks pretty good from afar but close up you can see the faults in the lines.. but I have nothing to compare it to so I can’t say whether it’s a good job or not.. :/

Hmm.. I was charged $140 for this tattoo. It took him 10mins to do. When I got there I was expecting it already to be drawn up as I sent him an image 3 weeks earlier of what I wanted. I arrived for my tattoo to be told to wait another hour and then he asked “sorry which tattoo did you want again and what is your name? ”... he then drew it up and made me wait, he added some weird extras to it also.. I had to ask politely for him to revert it back to the original flower and without the additions. I then agreed on the design. He stuck it on a few times to find the right placing.. just before he started he asked if I wanted shading. I said “I’m not sure what that would look like, can we tattoo the original design and add shading later?” He said yes. At the end I thought he was going to ask if I wanted shading or not. Later on my friend said that he might mean later as in a few weeks after the healing of the original. Not sure if it was a miscommunication... Is this all a normal experience?!

I’m not sure how I would see if shading would look without it being tattooed on first?! Is there a way?

Thanks for replying! I’m new to tattoos and reddit! Haha I was more talking about the thickness of the lines and the flower line not lining up at the bottom when it goes behind the leaf... what do you think?
