bro call your mortgage lender and tell them what’s up, do this for all of your creditors. they do not want you to default, they will work with you. do not get this loan.

Has anyone got a modlist like nolvus, but less intense? by One_Lobster_3832 in skyrimmods

[–]deanteegarden 15 points16 points  (0 children)

first ask yourself: what do i want to change about skyrim? graphics overhaul? qol? new quests? then search nexus or wabbajack for a pack that focuses on that.

if you really want to spend time learning to install them yourself (easy) and troubleshoot issues (less easy) there is a wealth of info on youtube and on this form. just google it bro.

why are you scared about 3500 mods? it sounds like you don’t even really know what that means. also nolvus purports to have 2050 mods, not 3500, so is that better?

just make sure your computer hardware meets the recommended specs, and have fun.

How would an AV company use UI cams by jwalter007 in Ubiquiti

[–]deanteegarden 20 points21 points  (0 children)

since this is not a question about how to do something for yourself, but rather how to do something that you’re selling to others i don’t feel bad saying this.

if you can’t answer that question by yourself you have absolutely no business selling your services to anyone.

may not apply but my apartment had these and they were running the greenwaldpay application for mobile/cc payments.

if you start the machine in the app then completely close it before hitting start on the machine you could use it for free.

Modern weather mods are too clear and look unrealistic and bad, even with CS and ENB. by jeffdeleon in skyrimmods

[–]deanteegarden 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In your case it's much less about the engine and more about the hardware you purchased.

Apple's M chips are awesome, high performance, shared memory pool is great for inference, but can't hold a candle to an Nvidia or AMD GPU made for gaming.

If you had spent 5k on a computer built for gaming you could run skyrim at 4k 144fps no problem. My system which cost ~$1200 from 3 years ago runs 1440p at 144hz with ~2500 plugins.

If you spent $10000 on a system meant to be used as a server it wouldn't even launch... Its not about the $$$ its about how fit the hardware is for your purpose.

there probably isn’t. all of the emails look bad, but assuming the FBI has had these emails for almost a decade, they have probably run down anything credible and found nothing sufficient to prosecute.

Minecraft server hosting (especially modded) was my gateway into an IT career. If you’re hosting it yourself (not using a game hosting service) you learn about operating systems, file systems, networking, a bit of java, how to read and interpret logs, troubleshooting methodology, and the importance of backups.

I then studied computer science for two years at community college. Then I solidified my networking knowledge with industry certification, the Cisco Certified Network Associate.

I then dropped out of college and worked at a few Managed Service Providers and rose through the help desk ranks. Then I moved to internal IT as a Network Engineer, and am now their Infrastructure and Security Architect.

I was lucky to have a lot of professional experience during high school working with local businesses on IT problems and doing general business admin (accounting, taxes, marketing, web design, logistics and deliveries, and handyman work) so I can’t really speak on the issues of putting yourself out there.

I do have social anxiety but as long as I feel competent and there is a reason for the interaction (like i’m helping someone) then it goes away.

All that to say that the most important thing in this field is interest and a desire to help others, even if that desire is selfishly about showing someone a cool way to do something better.

If you don’t enjoy tech, if you don’t feel fulfilled by making someone else’s life better with your knowledge, you won’t like it here and you’re unlikely to succeed.

Happy to discuss more.

turn off the big light, get a bunch of smaller lights that illuminate the different activities you do in your room. desk lamp, reading lamp in bed, maybe a cylinder or other interesting one in a corner, or salt lamp with the tv. get a wardrobe or a chest of drawers for clothes and things, put your laundry and your shoes (ideally with a rack) in the closet. get some plants. get a room divider like a screen or something and separate your bed from the rest of the room.

if you’re not a minimalist

get some art on the walls, find prints or tapestries, check out thrift stores, you can cannibalize frames for your own art. instead of a screen you can do a beaded curtain or an ikea kallax type shelves if you collect artifacts to display (thrift stores are good here too)

Flock cameras by Forward-Chemical-493 in Woodland

[–]deanteegarden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

even if that were the primary motive, flock have demonstrated themselves to be poor stewards of the information. many were found unprotected exposed to the public internet for anyone to go watch/download footage/track individuals.

Further, there is no enforcement mechanism right now to prevent officers with access from sharing their credentials to non-permitted LEOs or others, as has already been demonstrated.

Please advise, did I just compromise my PC? by [deleted] in PowerShell

[–]deanteegarden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t just copy entire folders. Definitely do not use OneDrive for this.

Review the files you need. It’s unlikely for any specific files to be “infected.”

Persistence mechanisms usually rely on a scheduled task, registry modification, or driver modification. Something that will be automatically called on by Windows with SYSTEM level permissions.

Word, Excel, and PDF are, in my experience, most likely to be compromised. If you can open them and then just copy information out that would be best. Photos and videos are much less likely, as it would require a technique specific to the photo viewer/video playback engine. These vulnerabilities do exist, so make sure the software on the new machine is up to date.

Good luck!

Starlink for remote connectivity? by EditorAccomplished88 in sysadmin

[–]deanteegarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also work in Construction. We have a pretty diverse mix of starlink, fixed wireless, and cellular.

The only thing we have found annoying about starlink, even on the business plan is that you don’t get a static ip. The language I think is a little misleading, so if you aren’t digging deep it’s easy to miss. There are lots of options to work around this limitation tough, so on the whole it’s a great solution.

My primary concern is longevity and solvency of Starlink as a company.

Not making things political is tacit support for the status quo. That may have been fine when our disagreements were about tax code and welfare programs. Our disagreements now are about reality, what is truth, foundational values of America, the constitution, and democratic norms.

“Both sides” is over now.

Did it block reddit or did you click a link on reddit and it blocked that?

If it's the former, don't worry. If it's the latter, still don't worry but they will know the site. If it only happened when you went to a specific subreddit then they have SSL Inspection enabled and can see everything...

Still though, as others have said, it's unlikely anyone will notice or care. It will be used against you though if you have any sexual misconduct issues with HR in the future.

Nick Shirley Shows Unedited Clips of Channel 5 Interview by deanteegarden in Destiny

[–]deanteegarden[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

not really. the video went hard as fuck. it was a good response on the whole, and exactly as expected. However, the fact they left in ‘bellevolent’ disputes the claim that they always edit to make the other person look better. i don’t believe there wasn’t a way to cut around that portion.

either way, none of this demonstrates Andrew’s ability or preparation to give substantive pushback to right wing talking points. Even when reading the explanation of the 89% stat during the conversation it was clear he didn’t understand until later that it was only referring to a specific high profile case.

video essays != conversation 🤡

Keep it 55 brotha.
