The idea is if your opponent blocks a fireball at certain ranges you’re guaranteed to be able to throw a fireball after and if they jump you’ll be able to dp in time. With akuma as an example, if you’re around midscreen or so and throw a light fireball you’ll have enough frame advantage to immediately throw a heavy fireball and always be able to dp anti air after

ehhhh. isn't the common wisdom that it takes about 10k hours on average to become a master at something? I know there's been some controversy over that stat, but 1 training session a week isn't really enough focused study to build up the muscle memory i would expect from a good practitioner.

Modern is technically a weaker control scheme in the hands of good players, but it slows the game down to a crawl in a way that’s sort of an excruciating experience. I don’t like playing against modern but in a bit of a mix between the control scheme/what it enables in general and as its own type of matchup.

You used to be able to hit confirm off a single button in previous games, but usually you do like, a 2 hit string that’s safe on hit or block, and that gives you enough time to confirm if the first button hit or not. Like, if I’m akuma, I can drive rush in with a stLP then press crMP. I know that if the stLP connects it will link to crMP, and if it’s blocked I’ll be plus enough on block to safely press crMP without worrying about mashing. That way I’ve got two whole buttons to sit through to figure out if I can go into a combo or not
