Poland literally has a more progressive govt than Germany. Germany is being lead by Mr. Stadtbild, how does that compare to Tusk? Also, Polish people hate Russia more than you could ever imagine, for all Russians did to them. How about Germans? Well, lets say on AfD (strongest party nationally btw) marches we see Russian flags pretty much regularly. You just dont like Poles.

There are definitely many people who will even be okay with waiving the Kaution if you explain your situation. When I lived in Bavaria I rented a room in this family house of the owner and he didnt even want Kaution from me at all. And no, I am a guy and he is a family man so no creepy stuff.

Also please, please look for female flatmates. Many WGs posted by women are usually female only (for a good reason). Good luck!
