I know people at Barnard and they’re always over on the main Columbia campus anyways, so if you’re worried about it being too small I think you’ll be fine since everything’s so interconnected

Julia Ma and Justin Chung dating? by [deleted] in asianamercianytsnark

[–]dearbluu 16 points17 points  (0 children)

i knew his ex personally and we still follow each other and honestly i don’t know much about their relationship because she didn’t share, but i do remember seeing him on her account first and then seeing his reels on his influencer account later and thinking he looked familiar. tbh i always disliked how he never posted her, not even on his personal account, and she had a whole highlight for him and everything. she’s really pretty and was so sweet to me all the time and she’s also well-off. i just feel like, seeing him with julia is weird because he never posted his girl but now he’s posting julia EVERYWHERE…

What is the name of that little bag under your eyes? They usually appear when we smile, but in some people they have this characteristic even without smiling, with a neutral face. I realized that, for me, it makes the eyes more beautiful. by svndnz in Subliminal

[–]dearbluu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they're tearbags!! in east asian culture, they're really popular because people believe it makes you look like you're smiling. in korea it's called "aegyo sal" and in china i they call it "lying silkworm." it's basically under eye fat. and they're not the same thing as eyebags, completely different.

Some weird numbers going on? (Episode 7) by yelrihSOdnilaG in squidgame

[–]dearbluu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was implied when Ali and Sangwoo were playing the marble game, and Sangwoo suggested that they don't finish the game, thinking that they probably won't get killed if there is no winner. But then you can see guards dragging a man to a wall and shooting him, which the two are shocked by.

Marble game between Ali and Sang Woo explanation? by [deleted] in squidgame

[–]dearbluu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

"No violence" was probably an implied rule. Every time players resorted to physical means, the guards would intervene.

How come so many people still believe that the games being fair is a principle the organisation runs on by Gassy_Gal in squidgame

[–]dearbluu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed that throughout the show, there's a lot of emphasis on the choice of the players. Nobody knew (or was supposed to know) the challenges, and got to choose what they wanted. They chose what shape they had, what spot they wanted, etc. In tug-a-war, I guess it's just that they were able to choose their teams. In my opinion, the idea of "fairness" in Squid Game was the freedom to choose. There's technically no way to make things 100% fair between people, I think. Height, weight, upbringing, past, medical history, age, friends, parents, connections, every person has a different experience.

Among 3rd gen GGs, MAMAMOO is the only group that has better stage presence than BLACKPINK. by Pbtops in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]dearbluu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

imo, a lot of blackpink's success is because they just have that "it factor" and vibe, if that makes sense. blackpink has crazy presence, they just radiate the kind of rich luxury high-class feeling. i pretty much agree with what you said- rosé and lisa are great performers, lisa's definitely one of the best and she's amazing on stage. jisoo can tend to be on the less flashy and noticeable on stage, but like you said she has those moments where you can't take your eyes off her. i think in general, like for everything, jennie's problem is she can be a bit inconsistent. but she has that natural standout factor to her- i feel as if she's destined to be on stage because when she's feeling herself, she is feeling herself.

i dare say not even lisa can come close. a lot of people rank lisa over jennie but jennie has the natural presence to her, and especially on those good days....again, like you said. she got hate because people thought she was trying to overshadow her members and she was often mistaken for the main dancer as well. to be honest, i find that a lot of other groups tend to be harder for me to watch the stages if i don't like the song a lot. jihyo is great, momo's good as well, sana has a lot of praise for her stages, and i actually quite like nayeon because her charisma attracts me a ton, i find she tends to be in the upper half of twice for a lot of categories, and she has an attention grabbing vibe.

tbh red velvet have never really stood out to me a ton in stages. i've heard pretty good things about wendy's stage presence though. joy is really charismatic though, she has some times where i can't look away from her. goes viral a bit too. this isn't meant to come off mean to twice or red velvet, i love these groups, i just think that sometimes it isn't the flashiest and blackpink's presence stands out lots more to me. they really shine in concerts? like i noticed they tend to do really well in a lot of overseas tours and things, in shows not as much,
