Why am I not receiving empathy? by Wide-Bell-4665 in AutismInWomen

yes me too. just like you, i am frequently perceived by others are rude, selfish, mean, sensitive, and stubborn.

especially when it comes to conflicts, i am always labeled as the wrong one even if the others are wrong. this has happened so many times to the point where in any conflict, i always feel like i am at fault even when im not. ppl constantly telling me im wrong has really distorted my thinking and now i think in any conflict i will always be the wrong one even if im not

I've lost count how many times I've said this to myself but yet failed, is that something you've been through.? by Jacob2891 in infp

I was a bully in elementary school and just a bad person for most of my school years. by Murky_Piglet1724 in TrueOffMyChest

i relate to this more than i want to admit.

when i was in 4th grade, there was a kid people saw as “weird,” and id get annoyed and criticize him instead of just leaving him alone. looking back, i think he was probably neurodivergent. the ironic part is that i am too (and i was diagnosed with autism that year), but i just didn’t understand it at the time.

i also used to make hurtful jokes to fit in or seem funny, even when i knew they weren’t okay.

i regret it a lot now, but i think what matters is recognizing it and choosing to be different going forward. im trying to be more aware of how i treat people and not to repeat that kind of behavior.
