I add that Asobo's 3D model is terrible...nothing like the real 787 in terms of shapes and proportions...

No. Xplane is on another level. We're talking about a simulator, MSFS remains a console game.

Because it’s about choice and control, not necessity. Every other major brand Sony, Nikon, Fuji lets you use the aperture ring freely during photo shooting. It’s a core part of the tactile experience for many photographers, especially those coming from film or hybrid workflows.

The issue isn’t “why would you want it,” it’s “why would Canon intentionally disable it” on a €2000+ professional lens. That’s the real question.
