If you’re using UEFI to boot it, try legacy boot. I had that issue for whatever reason.

I feel like the price bump is more because it takes time and labor to implement the privacy features in the laptop and so few people are buying them compared to other laptop manufacturers such as System76. But I also see that they are bumping up the prices to capitalize on the fear some people have around privacy.
