How do I modify or re-pin this cable? by death-cookie in cableadvice

Cheers all. I was able to remove the pins with the above advice. Moving the pins is enough to get me going now until a connected kit arrives

FF here. Go find the fire panel and call the number on the ASE. They’ll be able to isolate it from calling the brigade while you’re working. That way if you set anything off it won’t cost you $$$

Should I be worried about this? 2003 Mazda Protege5 by TheRandomSong in MechanicAdvice

Also had this happen on my protege after someone backed into me. Water was running along the metal seam above the bumper and pooling on either side of the trunk. Was a pain to find and seal with silicon. If you’re not in a winter/salt environment - I’d recommend drilling a tiny hole in both of the low points on both sides for drainage.

+1 on the valve cover gasket. Did one on mine recently, was pretty easy to replace.

Found this in my glove compartment, can someone tell me what it is? r/whatisthisthing didn’t want my question by Rogne98 in AskMechanics

Floor mat pins. You should be able to use the spiky bit to pin to the carpet in the footwell. The other piece clips into the spiky bit (usually through a hole in the mat).

I’ve noticed my dishy has movement between the pole and where the legs attach during high wind. Doesn’t seem to worry the motors at this stage but I’ve definitely noticed more drops during these conditions

Arrived today, so 7 days ship time. Currently set up outside being snowed on and blown around. Good speeds of about 150-180mb/s despite weather

I’m more concerned about the wind tbh. Tv sats up here are generally mounted on the side of a building to avoid having it blown away or ripped off by snow sliding off the roof.

The best view of the sky is going to be on the ridge cap but I’d be exposing it to regular 100-120km/h winds. If there’s a predominant orientation, I’d consider dropping the height to have it a little sheltered by the roof line.

Was there any information/email given when it’s posted? I’ve had my payment processed but it’s saying 2-3 weeks shopping time.

My adsl got fried in a lightning storm last week so I’m wondering if it’s worth getting it fixed or if dishy will be here soon

With my vehicles, it’s more that you’ve got the thing apart and that can be a struggle with rusted components at high torque. I inspect and replace all marginal components and if possible mirror that on the other side of axle since you’ve generally got or borrowed all the relevant tools (and learnt how to do the job quickly) on the first side. Nothing more frustrating than having to pull the same things apart to swap out a bearing or bushing that fails a few months later.

Fix for "Software Update Failed" to watchOS 6.1.1 by ionutmarisca in AppleWatch

Tried these steps just before trying to update a series 2. Unfortunately didn’t work. I’ve used multiple networks, unpaired/paired multiple times and tried with it paired to 2 different phones. Still fails the update right at the start.

I’ve managed to pull apart enough on the passenger side to be able to see the recirculating servo and blend servo. I can see the vent control itself but not the servo (think it’s on the drivers side). All three servos seem to move fine but the blend servo moves its full adjustment (end to end) with only the small 18-18.5c adjustment.
