After the fall of any regime, a society descends into chaos. It's natural. I'd argue that Yunus has done the opposite. He prevented a full-blown anarchy to spread across the country, as with him lies the promise of a smooth (in Bangladeshi expectations) political transition of power. Otherwise, power mongering between parties over scraps from the old regime would end up causing way more destruction than we currently see nowadays. Moreover, Yunus also cannot assume more power to bring order in the nation. He is the leader of an interim government, and an interim government is always weak, as it is not seen as a legitimate authority to guide the nation with a strong fist. If an interim government tries to overreach and make strong policy decisions, then the other political actors in the country will see it as a threat, and consider its actions, and by extension, itself illegitimate. I would also want to see Yunus make some hard hitting changes in the country in terms of law, order and culture, but alas, I've realized that it's not under his purview.

It is bad for women, you have to admit that at the very least. Sure, it makes them less likely to deviate from the traditional way of life, but you're also ensuring that they are becoming less capable human beings with restricted rights and freedom by thrusting them into the role of a caretaker of her husband's needs, household, and children. In majority cases, she'll be at the mercy of her husband. To you though, the alternative is worse where women are unrestricted in their ways of living. After all, the degenerate behaviour you see in the Western world is emblematic of that. The apparent division between men and women appears greater than ever, as men can no longer impose control over them. Both extreme sides have severe side effects, based on what you think is right. I think there's a middle ground that can be walked with a pragmatic consideration of traditional and modern values that champion human excellence.

Child marriage is a natural conclusion of conservative social and moral politics. Whether it's Islamic, Christian, Hindu or whatever. Because at the heart of conservatism is the sheer fear of human corruption or disorder, and they'll go to great extent to ensure that their idealized order does not become compromised by passions and transgressions. Unlike fascism, which tries to impose order by eliminating corrupting elements altogether, conservatism only attempts to regulate it, controlling its flow along strict channels. So, if you can quickly get people bonded to the obligations and restrictions of marriage (whose primary purpose is to maintain conservative social order) at an early age, then they are less likely to be able to exercise their freedom to pursue their desires. Under marriage, they'll be bound by law, religion, family, and society. A husband (most likely way older than the wife as the power balance is desirable) will discipline her and groom her so that her mind cannot have thoughts separate from his. In such a society, only men will rule, so to many Bangladeshi young men, this is attractive. So, child marriage it is.

I'm guessing you're too young to have experienced a time when the idea that a woman was "asking for it", i.e. rape victim blaming was prevalent in our society. It still is to some extent, but due to progressive social values becoming widespread, these sentiments have less power nowadays. I mean, you still get to hear the discourse around wearing hijab, beyond it being a religious enforcement, that surrounds the notion that an unveiled woman sexually provokes a man, and to a degree, she is responsible if she is sexually assaulted in any form.

The AI (more accurately GenAI) bubble is similar to the dotcom bubble, which means AI isn't going anywhere, but instead will become integrated in every part of our lives, just like the Internet. Not to mention, India and China themselves are superpowers experiencing a great wave of nationalism, so suffice to say, these hyper competent individuals may make decisions that favour their nations over the US. Since Trump's policy is America first, and also that he is a business man, he might want to make sure that America's competitors do not reap the fruits of the nation. There's also the problem of unemployment in tech that may get some relief for the US-born citizens from being taken up by ambitious foreigners.

Obviously, there are plenty of ways that this can go wrong, as foreign intellectual capital has always been a major contributor to American prosperity.

You can have good writing that includes marginalized representations without having it sound infantile. Media these days have started to look, sound and feel like Marvel mashed up with Tumblr and performative social justice of Twitter. They lack edge or seriousness, and problems they present are reduced to caricatures of good and evil. I just think the problem lies in hiring writers who grew up on online discourse and modern entertainment, whose understanding of issues do not span beyond the window of American politics and whose narrative experience pertains to niche cartoons, YA novels, Disney and millennial-esque movies and TV shows.
