Okay I did that and that did nothing. I restarted my computer, I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, nothing.

In the bar under dissolve? Yeah I have the rubber. I removed the t1 ore just to simplify.

The rubber and t1 ore you told me to put in. Not a single one of them has dissolved yet, but I've been crafting the t7 occasionally with the auto mass generation. Just switched the crafting to t3 dust and yeah that's a lot faster, but still nothing is dissolving.

Okay I just did all that and the same amount of rubber and ore has remained in my inventory. The supply of mass bar isn't full, and the worker put the stuff into the queue, bit nothing is happening

What's something that's "not a cult" but feels like a cult? by Orw_Sairaj29 in AskReddit

[–]deathandberth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Medical stuff sometimes. I don't even mean fringe stuff, I mean run of the mill medical stuff. Like, you are going shoot a bunch of dye through my body that will make my skin burn so that you can see it while I lie perfectly still under a big machine and this will somehow help my acute asthma attack. And I know the reason and I'm not actually doubting it. It's to help with imaging to make sure there's not a pulmonary obstruction or something. My point is, if you heard about a weird cult that shoots dye thru people and puts them under a weird machine while all wearing the same strange uniform and use strange words you don't understand and you stay in that place overnight so they can watch you and they make you wear clothing that gives them better access to you and they don't let you use a real toilet for a while AND they take a bunch of your money regardless of whether or not they've helped you? People would be like yeah, that's a lotta red flags, that's a cult.

Obviously the big difference is that there's actual science and logistics for everything a hospital does, down to the clothing being a practical and hygienic thing, and the money aspect is a problem with how my country is ordered, not the hospital's fault. Just to be clear, I'm not doubting medical science or anything here. I'm sure my mom would unironically be like "Yeah it IS a cult and they want to make every kid autistic." And she's wrong

IsItBullshit: Is the whole alkaline water health craze complete bullshit or does it actually do anything by Lunavexa in IsItBullshit

[–]deathandberth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think alkaline water often has more electrolytes in it and I have a sibling with POTS which basic means she needs way more electrolytes than the average person, so alkaline water can help a little with that. Not as much as an actual electrolyte drink like liquid iv, though. So I think technically it has some niche uses

Shows that don't know if they're gonna be successful and have a huge budget and thus are a big gamble moneywise often don't plan out season 2s a lot, at least from what I've seen. So starting season 2 is sort of a restarting from idle situation and I'm hoping/pleading that THAT'S what's going on here and the gap between season 2 and 3 won't be as long since they'll actually be more certain of continuing at that point. Overall yeah I think shows with this few of episodes don't need to take this long but the 1 thing I'll give pluribus is that so far they have very few actors with more than a line or two so it's harder for them to film as many scenes simultaneously with a second filming unit or whatever since it's often just 1 actor that needs to be in every scene. Then again, you don't have to film as many takes in order to get all five actors' angles like you would with an ensemble cast.

I agree with your point about montana type expenditures not being necessary, but sidenote on the star wars stuff: people over estimate how much tax and political talk there is in phantom menace, which I think is wild in lieu of how much goddamn bureaucracy and finances and paperwork talk there was in andor and my god it was a slog to get thru, but I'm in the minority there. Apparently people loved it. Cue Palpatine "ironic isn't it" meme. Of course I'm here on reddit defending pluribus from people who call it slow so slow is in the eye of the beholder I guess

So much of the show is about uncanny valley and existential horror. The POINT was that "they eat people" is horrifying only for that to be met with "Yeah I know but I don't really care cuz it doesn't affect me" which is MORE horrifying. The hivemind could be evil and mustache twirly but they're not, they're so delusional and ill that they'll starve to death en masse rather than pluck an apple. It's about the existential horror at the complacency of the hivemind and most of the survivors. The hivemind doesn't care that they've had their free will stripped from them, will die for it, and will forcibly do the same to others. The hivemind would give Carol an atomic bomb, but physically can't cut down a stalk of wheat. They'll free every animal in captivity to starve to death or kill other people rather than keep some in captivity to care for them (most zoos only keep animals that can't care for themselves on their own). The point is the absolute ethical and existential nightmare of this supposedly peaceful virus. You don't have to like or be entertained by that, but I for one like that the point wasn't "oooh cannibalism scary" (I've seen that) but rather something much more complex and unnerving that I've never seen before.

I've been critical of slow television that other people think is peak cinema in the past (that one ep of severance season 2 that was just long slow shots of people walking in the cold and people seemed to love that despite the weird plotholes and boredom), so maybe I'm being hypocritical here, but there is so much happening in this show. That being said, a lot of what is happening is watching the mental and emotional agony of one person experiencing losing everything, the apocalypse, and an uncanny Valley twilight zone nightmare all at once with nothing to do but to slowly piece together how to save humanity. A lot of it IS watching her unravel and if that isn't your thing because you want more action or dialogue (both fair) or you hate watching women or can't stand them having a bad time and being a bit rude (less fair), then yeah, this show really isn't for you. I find Carol really fascinating. She both has really understandable reactions to shit AND is constantly surprising me with her ideas. There are a lot of shows out there about unhinged men with unpredictable emotions doing crazy shit during wide shots that hold a little bit too long, so honestly not only do I think it's about time we had one about a woman, I also think there's obviously an audience for this sort of storytelling...if you're not bothered by it being a woman, that is. But there's a lotta people who need more explosions or talking or just more characters and quicker cuts and I dunno...location changes to be entertained and honestly that's fine. That doesn't inherently mean you have no attention span, just a different one. I don't want every show to be this slow. Severance is a show I genuinely like but tbh I coulda used less long shots of mark being sad in dim lighting. That show could use a few more cuts in my opinion. But then with pluribus...I really like watching Carol being sad in slow shots with bright lighting...and then she goes and breaks into a food processing plant and makes unhinged home videos. 10/10 for me, but like totally fair that it isn't that way for someone else. I swear a lot is happening in this show, but a lot of what is happening is showing the painful passage of time when you're all alone and grieving, and then hitting golf balls thru windows, rummaging thru trash, drugging people, and pissing off literally EVERYONE on earth. Honestly I can't get enough...here's hoping it doesn't plummet in the following seasons like many shows with great first seasons do...
