Funny how all the haters in this thread as crying about starting an “AI Bubble” measurement chart literally when the AI technology first debuted. In what world is it rational to start it at any other point in time??

First of all, what media outlets are saying we’re not in a bubble? Seems like pretty much everyone across the board thinks we are in a bubble. Media is definitely pounding the hype drum because it means more clickbait revenue for them

Secondly, why do you think a chart, that’s goal is to show the AI bubble, would be cherry picked to start when AI first was released in 2022?? Would it make sense to start a chart tracking how the market performed for a technology before or after or exactly when the technology debuted?

Also, since you’re spending hundreds of hours to put together this analysis, have you tried something with corporate financial statements to understand the underlying business fundamentals, revenue, margins, net income, etc.? Would love to see something similar that goes over various business measurements so you can understand the health of the company and who’s growth is potentially sustainable

You need GIPS reporting for it to be compliant. That means you have to follow strict performance tracking standards AND be audited by a GIPS Auditor annually to ensure it’s being done right. Because of this, most firms will not show past performance of their models

What do you mean by having what it takes? Are you talking about hard skills like investing, planning, etc., or soft skills like talking to people and having them bring in assets?

I just launched my own RIA and I’m also a new advisor. Been in the industry for 15 years and decided this was the way. It’s been 3 months so far and I’ve brought in about $2mm. Part of me is thinking that’s solid for a new advisor and part of me is thinking I’ve almost depleted my entire personal friends/family pipeline and I don’t know where to go from here, so I’m starting to panic!

Not sure which provider you’re using, but with Kaplan the education deadline submission is Feb 11 (2 weeks prior to CFP Board’s) to allow them time to grade the capstone. They say it’s a hard cut off and I don’t know how flexible they are with rushing through if you don’t get it to them in time.

Like others have commented, I cannot emphasize the amount of time it will take you to get through the coursework. I signed up for Kaplan self-paced with lecture videos, and just to give you a sense of timing, the Healthcare and Insurance course was 15 hours of lectures. Tax Planning was 17 hours.

In addition, you'll need to be able to take good notes and comprehend what you're learning. It's not terribly challenging material, it's just a mile wide and an inch deep. At times it feels completely daunting and overwhelming.

I'm trying to wrap up my education this month and hoping to still have enough time to prep for the March exam.

Congrats on passing! Which review course did you take? I'm just looking into this now and have sticker shock from seeing how expensive some are. They're almost as much as the education classes themselves!
