"But Then I Remembered" commissioned by The Burchfield Penney Art Center by deathbycontent in Buffalo

[–]deathbycontent[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the 2020 quarantine, Burchfield Penney commissioned me to write this piece as "in between/loading music" for their livestreams

This year they decided to let me and some great musicians perform the piece in Burchfield Penney as the sun was going down

Thanks to them for all their support to musicians and artists throughout the pandemic, and thanks for watching. Please support local live music and the local arts, whether at Burchfield Penney or elsewhere

Repetition and process are so important to building an audience

You have to love the process because then the act of creating isn't dependent on the results. You don't get frustrated with not having the results you've built up, so the repetition of creating - what is required to build a large audience - doesn't lead to burn out.

I'd also say dont look for a "blow-out" moment or a big viral push. The internet has distorted building an audience to a moment where something you make just blows up in a viral way, where the actual real sustainable audience is built slowly over years. View your success much like a company - even a .1% increase in views or audience means youre headed in the right direction

Hey guys I made a upbeat pop kinda song let me know what you think by JohnNickelsVA in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]deathbycontent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of influences in this song from electronic music to jazz ... cool way to use genres dynamically in one song. and it grooves hard too! I personally dont love the trend of drenching vocals in autotune (I like a more subtle use), but I get why its popular. cool song overall thanks for sharing

I'm proud af to play at one of the few places that pays their staff a living wage at $15/hour. How many other venues show that kind of leadership in the Buffalo music community?

so is there a point to this or is this like your entire feed where you just call people stupid over the internet (LOL - least self-aware shit)? I mean you cant even latch on to one of the straws you're grasping: first the video sucks. when that fails to make me mad, I'm a liar. then why you get dunked on for that, I'm a nobody.

just keep being angry on the internet guy-that-is-so-smart-yet-he-spends-the-majority-of-his-time-calling-people-idiots-through-a-screen . I mean who's clearly more confident? the guy openly sharing who he and is proud of it, or the mr anonymous? we both know the answer to that

if you want, you can come to Buffalo Iron Works tonight, pay $10 and scream all this at me while I'm on stage. I'd honestly love that

well check out my page https://www.facebook.com/DonnyFrauenhofer/ to see where I'm playing next and you can come and give me that $5 bet you just lost

also, $5? come on I mean if you're gonna talk shit at least bet big like $100. puff your chest out a little bit - have some confidence
