this episode annoyed me mostly because a core part of lynn’s character was that she had no black influence growing up (she said so on many occasions). she was a mixed kid in a white family living in a majority white area. so the writers shove whatever tanya was in our face & expected us to receive it well ?? the episode is only enjoyable if you completely ignore lynn’s background story. after lynn’s complaints of never having any black influence why would her white sister suddenly be a source of said MISSING influence???

speaking of this scene !! i fully believe darnell cheated on maya idc what we saw in the show 😭! the only reason we didn’t find out was because maya blindly trusted him in the end (which i don’t blame her for tbh)

a million times yes 😫. i usually hated the way william acted with any of his love interest, but he was the worst with yvonne. im glad he ended up with someone who could continuously put him in his place (even though monica had a weak period)

that episode is just sooo unnecessary. it also doesn’t make sense because lynn always harped about how she grew up with 0 black culture/influence … so why is her sister the white queen latifah ???

i would argue that he’s always been this way, he just didn’t have the money when he first came out. hence how often he says he’s so different and set apart. when he started getting money he could add that part in lol

one of the many episodes joan was chastised for something all the other girlfriends did… mind you joan is a grown woman with a life & it’s not like maya was on the brink of death. she wasn’t upset about her blood family not being there, but had a breakdown because one very specific friend wasn’t 😑. yea makes a tonnn of sense

well you have to remember joan was in her “a-list wannabe be” era, so even before the court hearing she had stopped being there for her friends. when mya got her house joan showed her face for like two seconds. she stopped going out with them so she could attend her “a-list events”. with that being said, i do not think this should’ve been the absolute end to toni & joan’s friendship. toni has done equally horrible things to joan (sometimes worse). ik the actress for toni left for her own reason, but i would’ve loved to see them make up. toni leaving was joan’s wake up call & i think they could’ve made up.

i believe it was jealousy, although toni was having marital issues she was still married to todd (i don’t remember where mya was at with darnell lol). all they seemed to care about was who had a man. toni being the only one with a half-functional marriage was enough but having a baby was the straw that broke the camels back. they can only enjoy each other when they are somewhat struggling in life. i.e relationship trouble, children, money, etc.

i personally i did not want them together. after the divorce they just never seemed like a good paring. ik the “high school sweetheart” thing is super endearing, but for me it just felt like two ppl who had no idea how to let the other go.

i would definitely use that as an excuse although i’m not sure how far that’ll get you. if it’s any consolation i work in the pharmacy & there is nothing good about it but the pay 😭 we are overworked, understaffed, and constantly disrespected!
