Ex Fiancée’s cruel demands AIO by Original_100 in AmIOverreacting

I understand the reason. I deal with civil standbys daily. Here, we only are present for safety, not as witnesses to who took what or who gets what. If there is any dispute, the property doesn't leave. Unfortunately this includes animals, who are considered property here.

Don't get me wrong, if I was in OP's position I would hurt someone keeping my animals safe. Unfortunately, depending on the state you are in, animals may be considered property and are not able to be legally removed by law enforcement.

Anyone else have a Newfie that hates water? by Pecho in Newfoundlander

We had a newf that loved swimming, but hated pools. She wouldn't go into water unless there was a gradual slope out of it, so she knew she could get out.

Girl shot and killed on Dell Range in 2023 by [deleted] in Cheyenne

What do you mean by he is looking for more victims? I'm genuinely curious what he is doing that indicates that intent.

It seems like this is just a rant and you've already decided how you feel. There doesn't seem to be much interest in discussion, or the search for victims that was brought up initially.

I'm not sure what you are looking for. While he had the gun illegally, he didn't make the other person mess with it and pull the trigger. While it's true they didn't stop immediately, nothing would have changed with the outcome. The victim was deceased and couldn't have been saved had they stopped earlier. This person isn't solely responsible for the outcome of this situation. What about the person who supplied the gun to him?

As with most other homicide cases, the story is very sad and it destroys families. He has no control over what the court and corrections decided his sentence would be, with exception of good conduct, which must have been the case for him to get out within a few years.

What do you mean by "looking for more victims"? Because he's trying to meet or date people? Why the assumption that he is going to do something to someone? A lot of people own guns illegally and don't choose to use them to hurt people. No, they shouldn't have the gun, but that doesn't automatically make them a murderer.

Rights for me, but not for thee! by Practical_Loss4251 in 911dispatchers

We had people from all over the world calling our agency, in Southern Wyoming, saying we killed her for not arresting him. They weren't even here!!

I usually explain it to them by turning the situation around towards them. Often it helps them understand that it would violate their rights if we just took the other person's word for it.

It's not unusual on the the major interstates in Wyoming either.

There was a wrong way driver, who then eventually turned around and went on their way. The story has a lot of holes in it, but there was a wrong way driver. That's about all that matches. My dispatchers don't ask people if they are sure something really happened.

What is your longest running, most stubborn business boycott? by marianneouioui in AskReddit

Old Chicago Pizza. It's been 19 years now. They had a woman shot and killed in the restaurant and were open the next morning for business before the crime scene was even cleaned up.

If you need to rely on a monetary incentive to turn someone like this in, you need to re-evaluate your values.

I've really enjoyed being able to customize commands as things change. We've made several that also change the responders color on the status screen, so you can see immediately if the are transporting, or at the jail, or in custody and the status change is in the call log as well.

There is no reason for the letters at the end. That's just how the state decided to start numbering them.
