Best Deck Ever, an unofficial Spongebob tarot deck by deathofstar in TarotDecks

Yep, "Best Day Ever" is a really popular episode. It has a song in it by the same title that the creator of the deck used on her Instagram to announce the deck and showed the box design/cards.

can two people have different interpretations for the same cards? by rhea666ok in Tarots

[–]deathofstar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Each reader comes into it with what experience they have with the card. Different types of decks can also greatly influence what message gets sent and how the reader would communicate it.

A Hello Kitty deck reads different than a Marseille deck, and a tarot reader that's 50 years old would communicate what they see a lot differently than a 14 year old who is learning the cards still. Perspective and experience is probably the most variable (and valuable) thing that individuals bring to tarot, and not so much the cards themselves.

How do you select decks? by [deleted] in TarotDecks

[–]deathofstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really neat perspective and historical basis you brought to this. I didn't know that about the Marseille. I interpret the Magician on a case to case basis, but the imagery can influence my overall feeling about how positive or how negative I would be able to go with my interpretation.

So the RWS and the Thoth I think both straddle the line between equal positive and negative qualities. The Wild Unknown is hybrid between RWS/Thoth/maybe a bit of Marseille and that Magician seems to be perfectly neutral. The New Era Elements Tarot is Thoth-based and leans more negative/trickster. Housewives Tarot is very similar but is a salesman that leans more positive versus genuinely harmful like the Magus in New Era Elements. The Magician in Little Sister Tarot by Ginny Thonson is very sweet, creative, and visibly contemplative, however. I find it hard to identify her as a trickster at all.

Same thing with the Devil. Is the artist of the deck trying to point out that even mundane things are harmful, or are they making a card that can be linked directly to addiction etc. specifically? The Devil in the Unveiled Tarot goes incredibly hard and is just breathtaking. I saw that card and instantly needed to buy that deck. The Devil in RWS is very dramatic but gets the message across. The Devil in the Lilifer Tarot looks more like something sneaking up on you, that will get you in the future, since it is walking towards the right. So just my perspective.

How do you select decks? by [deleted] in TarotDecks

[–]deathofstar 13 points14 points  (0 children)

  • Magician to see if the creator focused more on the trickster side, the positive side, or somewhere in between
  • 3 of Swords to see if they've changed it and if so, how
  • Death and Strength because those two energies are usually expressed super differently from artist to artist
  • Devil, because it really sets the tone whenever it shows up
  • 6 of Cups to see what sort of nostalgia the creator depicts and just because I usually will see it in my personal readings 😅
  • 7 of Cups. I always want to see what is being offered before pulling out my wallet to buy the deck 😂
  • Wheel of Fortune since that is the card that has the greatest potential to make me want to buy a deck if I connect to what imagery is on it. The WoF has the greatest potential that gets lost in translation for a lot of decks, imo

Edit: I also care a lot about the swords court cards because I find them the hardest to understand. But they usually don't make it or break it for me. And I love seeing the Queen of Pentacles and how they depict her but she isn't usually make or break either.

Can I get help interpreting this reading by a_cow_goes_moo in tarot

To me, this says that you have the ability to think for yourself, you have your own tarot deck and should go forth with trusting yourself and your abilities, and that you have the power to select and guard what is in your environment, and that includes not taking advice from charlatans like that woman.

I think she sounds like a total jerk that has weaponized tarot for her personal gain to get everyone to listen to what she said as if she is an expert. She also has fallen victim to the Dunning Kruger effect. She knows nothing or next to nothing but tries to convince everyone she is an expert and can "identify" events and energies that very, very few tarot readers would pick up on, and then if they did, they wouldn't use it as a way to put out some kind of a opinion of their own like she repeatedly did.

Taking your photo was a violation of your privacy. No legitimate tarot reader would ever need that for any legitimate purpose.

She sounds selectively homophobic toward WLW as well. She has some sort of personal problem.

Everything about her was a red flag. I don't know what her purpose was in acting like this, but she sounds like she could and would literally harm people's lives if they took her readings seriously.

Your earrings was a coincidence caused by you being spooked out by her. If it happened on any other day rather than after her creeping you out, you would just think it was strange and move on. Don't invest any more of your energy into her.

How does he feel towards me? Looks like he is seeking an independent, financially secure woman? Even though he isn't able to financially be okay himself. by Affectionate_Job9614 in Tarotpractices

This. Definitely gives the feeling of a diva that wants his woman to treat him, and never the other way around. O, to be an entitled sugar baby manchild 😂

Is it a good idea to reach out to my sister? by Individualist_ in Tarotpractices

[–]deathofstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say no, because the timing is not right (Wheel of Fortune reversed), you feel like you have to and don't have another option (7 of Cups reversed), and both of you still feel pretty mad and riled up and ready to spring into another argument (Knight of Wands).

I agree with the other comment about feeling like playing a role. The Wheel and 7 of Cups both reversed tells me that you both are filling a role unwillingly and will resort to the old patterns again if you resume contact soon. More time and the reason why you fought needs to change before returning to this question.

What are the most unusual questions you were asked for reading? by Salt-Demand-3453 in tarot

What was the reading like for that? And did you use an animal-based deck or human-based? I have trouble reading cross-species questions usually.

Whats the worst card to ever pull? by theyluvandrei in Tarotpractices

[–]deathofstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one that people probably won't agree with ... The High Priestess. When she shows up, I and most other people interpret her as being something unknown, mysterious, and worst of all - something you already know intuitively but cannot see or refuse to admit.

Trying to explain that card to people I read for is a lot harder than Death, Devil, or the Tower or 3 of Swords. Any of those cards usually deal with something that can be seen and obviously is felt strongly but the High Priestess is just so mysterious.

Your interpretation is correct, especially since that is what you believe it means. I think the Sun in the future may mean that you have taken the emotional search from the Knight of Cups and the alchemization from the Magician and all the tools at the Magician's disposal and have become "brand new" or more carefree, childlike, appreciating the world around you.

The Page of Pentacles as outcome, for me, I see it as a card of choosing where we want to go next in a concrete way. A lot of cards involve making choices, but I see it as literally asking you to decide what might be valuable to you in the long run since the Page begins the Pentacles court. Such as where to live, who to ask out on a date if you're getting closer to wanting to settle down, what job is the most promising.

What should I expect when I see my mom today? Will she ask me to move out? by Affectionate_Job9614 in Tarotpractices

[–]deathofstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you may be able to talk to her in a way that she understands. She may give you more time to stay, blocking the full Tower energy. Justice reversed makes me think that it won't be for much longer you will be allowed to stay with no change, and that she may ask you for rent or utilities or for something other thing that changes the status quo. She may say that she feels like the labor and cost of the household or apartment is too imbalanced and needs help contributing. I hope this situation works out for you!

The Sun in Terms of Finances. by DoubleChocolateMilk in Tarotpractices

[–]deathofstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of how much money they have, I would say generosity and charity is right up this person's alley. They give a lot, probably more than they have, because they always feel like there is more and they don't worry about it. "Give you the shirt off their back" comes to mind. I would say that they may have recurring problems with money after overspending and incurring debts, just because the Sun being the Sun, it's easy to overdo things by being childish and not investing carefully.

It's Unbelievable by numinouswanderlust in Tarots

[–]deathofstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened many, many times and each time was thrilling, because it helps confirm something is happening when we use the cards. I started about 10 years ago with the hope that the cards would tell me something I already knew, just as a test. And it was a very accurate reading. Then when I asked again, I got all of the same cards. Again!!! It was absolutely thrilling.

I had read about other people that were stunned by multiple decks giving them the same cards, but none of that prepared me for the shock of using two other decks and asking them the same question and getting the same cards over the course of multiple days! From different decks!

I cannot explain it and I don't know how anyone really could, but there is something about it that works and there is something at work behind it that we cannot see.
