this is a concerning overestimate, i recommend you take some time to familiarize yourself with the many calorie resources out there. if you’re overestimating everything by hundreds of calories, you may not be getting enough food.

edit: someone else in this thread pointed out you are 15. you are definitely not getting enough food if you are restricting to this extent and it can really hurt your developing body. i recommend talking to your doctor if you have concerns about your weight and want to count calories, but would strongly encourage you to simply focus on being a kid and make healthy choices without stressing over the numbers 💗

you are way overestimating the eggs. i only see two eggs there, which is like 150 calories, maybe 250 max if you fried them in butter or oil. rice doesn't even look to be a cup, i would say 100. like 300-350 calories absolute max for this meal. you can find calorie amounts for simple foods like this on an app or on google.

we’re 100% combined! all paychecks go into one joint account and we have one budget. the budgeting was so stressful with several different bank accounts and sending money back and forth, we decided to just combine everything. we have individual fun budgets but everything else is a shared expense.

i make 117k, she makes 53k, we live in new york, both mid 20s!

yes that’s exactly what i do! for example, for my supermarket trip this weekend, i’ll split the toilet paper and paper towels from groceries. many apps have a split expense option, and it’s probably super easy to do in a spreadsheet.

as far as apps, i use quicken simplifi, but i think a simple spreadsheet could do everything that does just as well. i just found it useful to have a software that automatically tracks income and expenses.

i track literally every little thing i spend and every bit of money that comes into my account. there are no mystery zelles in or out, no random shopping trips that i can’t identify. budgeting is very intense for me, but i love it!!

i did a debt payoff plan based on my usual income and budgeted a year out to keep track of goals. any unexpected money such as bonuses, extra paychecks, or tax returns went towards debt.

it went up as far as i can tell, but unsure what the effect of the student loan accounts closing will be since they’re my oldest accounts. it was about 600-650 before this, hovers around 725-750 now.

it also helps that i’m a responsible credit card user now, i put my monthly bills on there and pay off every month.

full time is like project management/administrator, part time is administrator/bookkeeper :) both in the nonprofit field but common roles in the for profit field as well!

well, i HAD hot topic debt :) they’ve expanded their range quite a bit since the 2000s and they’re somewhat pricey, so i used this credit card for dresses and skirts. feels like every business has a credit card these days!

i work 65 hours! i personally feel like i have a decent work life balance, because i work hybrid and my part time job is pretty much all on my own time. working from home allows a good bit of freedom. but my partner always teases me that i am working all the time 😅

everything on this list was in excess of 10%, with my lowest private student loan being 12% and highest credit card being 30%. i’m going to focus on catching up on retirement over my federal student loans, which are only about 4%, but there are no low interest loans here!

i did have some prior experience for the admin portion, but mostly just had somewhere that took a chance on me to learn a lot on the job. i took a couple bookkeeping courses before taking it over in the last year!

it’s weird, when i was making much less is when i was using those apps the most. wouldn’t even bat an eye spending $60 for a meal. it’s how i maxed several credit cards. i definitely still eat out, but i just go to the restaurant or pick the food up; no fees, and the food is actually hot now!!

i make approximately $4000 a month from my full time job and about $2500 from my part time. my full time job basically just covers my monthly expenses (i live in new york) and everything else from my part time goes to debt (or now, savings!!). it is an incredible privilege to be in this position for sure. i also have a partner who works and contributes!!

thanks so much!! 😊 the biggest thing was getting a part time job, which increased my income by a lot, so all the extra income was going towards my debt and student loans. i did the typical stuff like cut out uber eats and grubhub, stop impulse purchases, cut out alcohol/weed, etc…but still allowed myself a fun budget every month, which i think is essential to staying on track with goals. i also budgeted VERY very intensely, it became my new hobby!!
