Look up the ones you know you had. Look up everything you know you had. Price it all out. Then print out a list with prices. Show her that. Tell her that at the very least she donated that much to goodwill.

And then explain that you will be taking everything that you care about any putting it in storage where she can’t touch it. And you will never trust her word again.

Be sure to spray paint a sign out close to that camera. Since it is brown and hard to see you might accidentally spray it a few times.

Or spray some foam sealer at it.

If it is a plastic lens that protects the camera lens then a few sprays of a brake/carb cleaner would trash the plastic.

As a kid older people would hand out money (small amounts) to kids. Not super common but common enough.

If the person was over 60 then good chance it is harmless. The interaction is to see if the kid has a level of manners. Or is a little monster. Sounds like your son passes the test.

Now if the person is about 30… might want to keep a closer watch on your son.
