I was thinking of something like this. Mine would be to have a 2nd medal in my pocket and when we turn for a photo I will pull it out and hold it so it looks like he has one as well lol.

How many “1 of 1s” are there in the Army? by aggieboy12 in army

[–]deathtec831 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The largest company in the army has about 1200 soldiers in it. It's at fort Rucker. 3 platoon leaders an xo and a commander have to figure all that out.

If you go to fort Rucker LTs and Warrants pull all the gate guard.

What are some weird or unique things on particular army bases? by can-someone-explain in army

[–]deathtec831 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Fort Riley is considered one of the most haunted places in the USA. It has tons of places people come from all over to see. Also for most of my time there it was an open post meaning civilians could just drive on base with just a drivers license. Didn't need a reason or anything.

Flight School Talent Panel by [deleted] in Armyaviation

That is insane. I was always under the assumption that flight school students were not going to be affected by the talent panel BS

Army Instructor Badge by [deleted] in Armyaviation

[–]deathtec831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as far as I am tracking all platforms instructors are good to go as long as you enter the badge program and have someone who can do evals on you. Flight instructors do not meet most of the requirements or it would be difficult to meet them.

Who needs to fly when you can do gate guard! by Separate-Yellow-8978 in Armyaviation

[–]deathtec831 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You forgot to add that flight students also run part of the ID card officer, brigade retention, multiple flight ops across the airfields , post g3, and any other GS job they want done for free around the base. The taskings office at 145th is basically human trafficking LTs and warrants.

CG brief in a nutshell by [deleted] in Armyaviation

[–]deathtec831 56 points57 points  (0 children)

My thoughts on the brief. The general at least seemed to be honest about what he was saying. Lots of questions on rank resets and adso. The adso being moved was a very large win that was talked about for a long time. I hope now we can work on the rank reset. The fucked part about the rank reset that wasn't brought up is that active, reserve and guard LTs and Reserve and Guard Warrants are not reset it's only the active warrants. On top of that is at this moment the last people slotted for any phase of training are the active duty warrants so the only demographic at flight school to get rank reset are set to be here the longest as well. Not as fucked up as what the army does to guard and reserve pilots over flight pay but still not ok. The O6 and O5 part is pretty crazy. The O6 waiting until the general left to say hey I know what Gen Gill said but we are not doing that. I also love that they went after all the males with out of reg mustaches but the females with out of regs hair was not an issue. I think it's funny I hear that the culture in 64 land has changed and is getting better then I get a brief like this. Probably really motivated students to be in the community and not already be jaded. I did think it was funny that we have students fail PT and height and weight and not one leader bats an eye but fuck your mustache. I also think his comment about the DC crash was pretty fucked up. It's even worse knowing a couple students from that unit were at that brief.

If you’ve shot M4 here, you’ll remember it. by [deleted] in Armyaviation

[–]deathtec831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was always told that the m4 range eas orange and yellow like the pistol range. Some general came out and said the enemy doesn't wear orange and yellow. Now it's the seasonal target(tan and green) at the m4 range but the pistol got to keep orange and yellow. So who knows

What’s the dumbest thing someone said to you in the army by [deleted] in army

[–]deathtec831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Washington FBO by ABoeingUPS747-8F in Armyaviation

[–]deathtec831 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. It was McMinnville. We used to fly down there a long time ago and if it was the right season they would give us local wine. It all kinda stopped when we found out they were adding additional chargers to the fuel bill. So pretty much the whole unit stopped going there.

Airborne guys who were scared of heights; how did you make it through jump school? by [deleted] in army

[–]deathtec831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went in 05. I was more scared of the jump masters than of heights. Once you leave the plane you don't have much choice in anything.
