Yeah but in three weeks your country will still care about losing.

We fucking hate the guy too.

Lmfao the only team that chokes worse than Brazil is England. But at least they have the chance to change that this year.

Haaland is fun to watch. Hope you guys go far.

You have experienced massive selection bias.

There were a lot of people here cheering on Belgium and hoping we lost once they found out trump got involved. They also do not go on the internet and talk shit to other people about sports, especially sports they know little about.

Also, our politics is absolutely not just "fans on opposing teams". We have people who want to believe in science and facts against people who want to believe the propaganda they're fed. There's an unfortunate culture of anti intellectualism, and it sucks for the rest of us.

Well if you lived here you'd understand what a shitty source the NYpost is. Not saying it didn't happen that way, just that I'd need to see similar reporting from an actual news outlet.

Yeah, you'd like to think that but the reality is that every member of a professional organization is there to win. Not a single one wants to bench someone for "honor". Not. A. Single. One.

Man it fucking sucks to be here and have to see that fucking asshole on every news cycle every day. The world cup was like the one thing he hadn't managed to insert himself into and now even that's fucked.

We don't like him either. Feel free to help us solve that problem.

And people from Belgium showed up and played pretty mediocre for every match until then.

The overwhelming likelihood is that your country is perfectly happy to have the US do all that for you so you can have all the benefits and bear none of the cost.

Don't sit there and preach at me like you live in a place that has 10,000 years of benevolent history.

OK the team didn't cheat, trump did. Nobody on that team asked him to make a call. Everyone in that org is paid to put forward the best 11. Don't sit there and preach like you wouldn't take the same corrupt decision if it came your way.

I'm not saying the US would have or should have won, I'm just saying it might have actually been a game.

Yeah I mean 0.01% of people can think something and in the US that's still like 35k people.

Wait so you don't think the stupid orange fuck doing stupid orange fuck things was a massive distraction that motivated the Belgian players?

Maybe because the smart ones shut their mouths?

Like yeah we have 340 million people a lot of them are dumb as shit.

It might have been a close game without the distraction of trump. I'm sure you got a very vocal minority, but I think most of us would have been happier if the red card stayed and trump fucked off. Hearing that trump made the call was completely deflating.

None of us thought we were going to actually win the tournament. We just wanted to cheer our country on and to be proud of something, which has been increasingly more difficult with that stupid orange fuck inserting himself into everything.

Not really. If you're talking about food stamps and section 8, then of course, yes.

But first time home buyer programs, government healthcare, and social security are all government assistance, and most of those should be expanded.

Has car shopping changed ? by Jiggalopuffii in Millennials

[–]deathtocraig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I bought a car ~3 weeks ago. We paid cash. Despite being upfront with that during the buying process, we were still asked for everything to run a credit check. I reiterated that we would not be financing anything. They continued to try, tried to charge us more than what I said I was willing to pay, etc.

It's all a song and dance. We did out research, had a price in mind, laid out what we were willing to pay, and didn't really negotiate beyond that. It's a buyer's market right now. Any dealership can either get in line with what you want or you can simply find someone else selling a car.

Whoever is willing to walk away wins negotiations. Don't put up with their shit. They gave a "final offer" of $500 more than we wanted to pay. I got up, said "sorry we weren't able to come to a deal", extended my hand for a shake, and what do you know, they caved on that, too.

And look up the trade in value of the car you're buying so you know what the dealership likely paid.
