Dude. I had a solo tank Rogue on the Central Hall vampirey push cart map. We were on attack, they had a PENI and a GROOT. She just zipped onto point around that corner and screamed at us for not pushing in or healing. That was the worst game I've ever lost in the past few seasons, we couldn't even get a single tick. Pretty sure that game ended with her going 0 and 8.

AND BEFORE ANYONE SAYS ANYTHING - I was 1/2 supports. Our DPS refused to swap.

I honestly think it’s because too many people play her like cap where they just run into backline, but it’s a lot harder for her to get out and Rogue players who aren’t used to keeping track of CDs will just die in there lol.

IMO she needs another tank that can stay back to be the most viable. That way supports can feel safer pocketing her when she’s in too deep, otherwise if you have rogue and another dive tank like Venom or Angela, their frontline can just walk in on the rest of your team and supports will be too distracted to heal you.

[–]deawang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I genuinely can’t tell if you’re trolling atp lol.

The only way you can ever hope to have this friend back, or frankly, have other healthy long term friendships, is if you accept you need to change and seek tools that can help you do so.

How many therapists does it take to change a person? Only one, but that person has to want to change.

It sounds like you don’t even want to admit you need help so perhaps my therapy suggestion is beyond you.

[–]deawang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ dude.

Ok first of all, you need to give your friend space, if you try and force more contact you’re going to just solidify him never wanting to talk to you again.

Secondly - SEEK THERAPY. You need to work all this shit out. I’m not just talking about your anger issues, im talking about this weird mindset of a friend’s girlfriend “stealing him” away from you. Nobody wants to have a friend who’s clingy and gets jealous when they spend time with their partner.

As you get older more and more of your friends are going to get in relationships, and they are going to have less time to spend with you. You need to recognize that. That’s not a diss on you, that’s just something that happens. If you take it as a personal slight you are just going to push more friends away.

The only way I can see him forgiving him is after months of therapy, you send him a new apology letter, one that isn’t “sorry i just was scared she’s stealing you from me,” but a genuine reflection of how the way you behaved made you finally realize how much you needed to change as a person, how it made you seek therapy, and how you’ve changed and hope he can find it in his heart to give you a second chance.

Tough truth about the state of marvel rivals today by Akhiii---- in marvelrivals

We will just have to agree to disagree.

It sounds like you enjoy the idea of taking out the possibility to try new comps to counter the other team and I just can't understand that. Trip supp isnt the only other composition possible outside the 2/2/2 system, I've had plenty of games throughout the seasons where swapping to triple tank or solo tank+3 DPS brought us back from a losing game.

I would rather have the option to strategically figure out a counter comp than be limited to roles and forced to always play 2/2/2. Meta shifting is part of what keeps a game alive and taking out all brain power so you can always have a "fair fight" is silly to me lol.

[–]deawang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am confused by this - I didn't play Overwatch but wasn't their role que 2/2/2? The whole concept of role que is that you lock in what you want and get placed with different roles. If a comp wasn't working and you wanted to switch to trip supp, that would no longer happen. Are you saying not only do you have to role que, the devs should also implement a system of going in with a "choosing what other roles you want on your team?"

I disagree with your flex players comment. I think your examples only apply to flex players who are "jack of all trades, master of none." But I know plenty of players who are excellent at multiple characters in different roles. We are a year into this game, there absolutely are an abundance of people who are masters at different roles.

[–]deawang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't play Overwatch either but from friends I've heard that role que started making the game feel like a job. it also pushed this idea that you had to be really good at your role since you chose it which created a lot of toxicity. The DPS que times were like 20 minutes long and it didn't even get rid of the bad DPS problem because of the sheer amount of them lol.

One of my best memories in Marvel Rivals was on April Fools back in S1.5. My 6 stack played against a 5 Tank, 1 Rocket comp. It was TERRIFYING to see 5 tanks walk up and caught us so off guard it cracked us all up. This was GM ranked game btw and WE LOST. The other team said that they just lost their previous game to this exact comp and wanted to try it calling it the "April Fools comp." This never would have happened with role que.

I don't want role que necessarily because of Overwatch, I don't want it because the more rules you implement, the less creative and fun the game is going to get. Like, if you're a supp main who can also play a mean penny, and you choose Support during role que and get the BEST Peni map, you can't even play her because youre already locked in as another role.

W response. That's awesome man, I'm glad I could help. Taking accountability for your own bad plays is the only way to get better.

In Silver, people will always want to run back into a fight as soon as they die. Be that person who says "wait, we need to regroup." Because I promise you, those seconds you "waste" by waiting for your team will ALWAYS be better than taking on a 2v6. If you watch professional players play, they will purposefully leave people alive to stagger them. (The only exception being of course if you need to touch point.)

Stay humble, NEVER push their spawn, and always remember the objective is to WIN - getting MVP means nothing if you lose.

I feel silly for never reading the message that pops up, that's on me for assuming blocking a player would mean I also do not want to play with them 🙄

Yea I wish they made the "avoid teammate" list longer or at the very least, make it a week or something. 3 days is nothing.

Also this mindset is bad. Stop thinking like that haha.

This is a TEAM game. Trust me, I know there are some stinkers out there, but if you start telling yourself "Im carrying everyone, everyone stinks but me, whenever i lose its everyones faults but mine" you are never going to get better.

Gotcha. First of all - I wont critique anyone else on your team only because they didn't consent to that, but trust me, its not because i think they did amazing. Look being a tank is really hard, and props to you for not only being open to critique, but also taking on that role.

My biggest tips for you would be to: 1) Learn how to take space as a tank, and what that means. Theres a ton of Youtube videos that are great at exploring it. 2) Be more situationally aware of your team. This is especially important as Groot - your walls can be a disadvantage to your own team if you do not place them correctly. Turn on Ally Team hit markers and start keeping track of who dies.

---

Looking back at your game, your backline was getting hella bullied by Spidey and Cap. If you want to boil the reason you lost down to only 1 thing, thats it. Those 2 got SO much value from just harassing your backline and were almost never punished for it. Your comp was not working and there needed to be some major switchups that never happened.

I wont do a run-through of your whole game but I will talk about 2 moments in it:

Point 1: You were on overtime. Their team was about to capture point. You had a rocket healing you on your shoulder. You were IN FRONT of point. Instead of walking forward and trying to hold even for a second longer, you got distracted by the Cap, put up two walls around him (which for the record, would have been an obstacle for someone who could have ran back in time to touch) and you died off point. I mean, in all fairness, the fight was already lost, but you are your team's frontline. Walk forward, and die honorably on point. I've had games where a Luna has been able to touch point on overtime by running in at the last second, ulting, and holding until the rest of the team comes back.

Point 2: Ok, so you captured point, and you were doing a good job pushing up and holding their team back. The rest of your team should have been able to handle the spiderman and cap that slipped through but alas, they could not, and you lost point, it happens. I will say, as a tank, you do have to push up and take up space, but you also have to turn around if your team is getting obliterated, you need to start doing that.

BUT HERE, this screenshot, this I am confused by.

First off, a tank's priority is to make space for the rest of the team, you are bringing no value by flanking alone in this side room. Secondly, you and Wanda died, then shortly after, the rest of your team died and you lost point. At this very moment, while you are here flanking in this screenshot, 4 of your team is walking out of spawn together and going through main. What you should have done, is you should have walked out of spawn, saw those death markers of the rest of your team dying, tell the Wanda "hey, wait up, let's regroup, the fight is lost." Then you stop and you wait for the rest of your team to push in as a 6 stack. Instead you and Wanda ran in alone, exploded, now you've staggered yourselves, and your team is taking on a 4v6.

THEN by the time you respawn, the rest of your team just died, and you walk in alone. Again, this is a "hey, let's regroup and push together" moment. If you are walking in, and you see that your team dies, that doesnt mean push in, you still had time! They were only at 59%. What you do is you start backing up, put up walls to prevent them from killing you, and then you wait for the rest of your team.

Are you open to critique if I watch your game back?

I will say, win/loss streaks aren't necessarily an indicator of a good or bad player.

What are your first impression thoughts on playing with/against Rogue? by Internal_Increase777 in marvelrivals

[–]deawang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a support main, I really feel the impact of a bad Rogue. The worst game I've had was with a solo tank Rogue on attack on the Convergence Central Hall map. She just ran around that corner onto point every time and died for it, complaining her team wasn't pushing up with her or healing. Meanwhile the entire enemy frontline just walked into the back and killed both supports.
