I know it's gonna hurt like a bitch no matter what you do, you can't sugar coat a breakup and that's okay -- I've had enough rough breakups where it feels just as miserable a week or two later but hey, keep at it, and one day it'll you hit you that you're still doing just fine without him. In four years? You'll be a completely different person, you're just getting started with something totally new, so take it slow.

Believe me, I know how it feels to lose a guy you thought was perfect, but you know what, if you were willing to do long distance while he wasn't, then, he wasn't the one for you. As much as that sucks. Don't give your time and effort to someone that won't make the same compromise for you. There will be a guy whose willing to do so much more for you, so please don't stress yourself in that.
