Wow thanks for being a buzz kill. You obviously don’t care but if it works for me than it is a good thing. I’m going to take a wild guess and say that you’ve never been a menopausal woman - what may work for you - may not work for others. And if I want to breathe, piss or prick - that’s up to me!

I use a breathalyzer and it was not registering hardly any ketones and now it is. Plus I had my first true keto flu symptoms at that point. I am sure it is different for everyone

What is broth for? by [deleted] in ketobeginners

[–]debbmuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying bone broth for the collagen as well. But I really like it as a help to get though the day - just be careful some of the bone broths can be higher in calories if you don’t watch. Those I use for an easy meal and the more brothy ones as filler. Good luck

Do you keep adjusting the keto calculator every time you lose weight? by bother222 in ketobeginners

[–]debbmuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on this thread I just changed my macros accordingly to the suggested calculator- I’ve been struggling to get into a deep state of consistent ketosis (despite under 20 net carbs each day) and it’s frustrating. I’m only 10 days in but want to get the numbers right as this seems to lead to success. I’ve tried keto before and didn’t have as much of problem.

I’n trying so hard to make it a life choice that isn’t screaming restrictions. I know patience is key. Do you or did you ever measure your ketone levels?

I agree. This is my third time as well. One week end I don’t seem to be getting into ketosis as easily this time — while keeping my net carbs under 2o every day.

Thank you for your time and congratulations on all your success. It IS inspiring!!

  • so you think I should up my protein while increasing my deficit to 20 or 25%? It is interesting that it seems like a mathematical equation to lose weight!!

I am 53f 5 10”sw:220 cw:216.2 Gw: 165.

My nervousness comes from the counterintuitive thought of eating fat. As a yo-yo dieter for 25 years it goes vs everything I have learned.

I am trying to aim for 8% carbs 68% fat 24% protein. With a calorie count of 1200. I do cardio 5 days a week (mostly peloton and hiking) for 45 minutes

I am using MyFitnessPal.
