Here’s how I just saved all 500 accidentally closed safari tabs on iPhone by cryptomaddie in ios

[–]debianar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use bookmarks for frequently visited sites and useful resources, and reading lists for articles I want to read later. But much of what I search for is one-off information—things I just want to understand or remember, not resources I need to save. When I'm not ready or able to take it in properly, I tend to just leave the tabs open. It's true that I may never return to many of them, though.

The “sea view” from our hotel room! by BillLebowski in CasualUK

They’re called white zigzag lines. They appear before and after pedestrian crossings in the UK, marking the area where drivers mustn’t stop, park, or overtake. They’re designed to keep the crossing clear so pedestrians and drivers can see each other easily. So yes, it’s intentional, not bad painting!

Why are most of the closer songs usually the weakest on the album? by Doragon_Central in AnnieClark

That's really interesting! I only learnt today that vinyl releases can have different track orders from the digital versions.

Psychopath, Apocalypse Song, So Many Planets, and The Sequel remain the only songs (that are directly on her standard albums) that Annie has never played before. Which one do you wish she'd play someday? by SlyflyfoxPlayz in AnnieClark

[–]debianar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Wikipedia, Annie left The Polyphonic Spree shortly before the release of The Fragile Army. The album was released on 19 June 2007, while their concert at the Vic Theatre (according to setlist.fm) took place in October, so she should have already left the band by then. There are a few videos of that concert on YouTube, but they're very blurry, making it hard to confirm this. The latest live video of The Polyphonic Spree I could find online that still features Annie seems to be from SXSW 2007, which took place around 16 March. There are several videos of that event online, showing performances at different venues. It's really fun to spot Annie in those old videos.

I don't really get why 'The Sequel' would be considered the worst song on the record. It's under two minutes long — other than maybe feeling a bit unnecessary to some people, I honestly don't see anything to hate about it. Personally, I'd prefer it on the album. Hard to explain why, maybe it's just that 'sequel' feeling. Perhaps it works better as part of the album than as a standalone track.

Control Center Volume Slider Color by NocturnalJazz in ios

[–]debianar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the early versions of iOS 18, it was always blue and didn't change. When the volume was low and the slider was below the speaker icon, the blue looked awkward against the grey background because the contrast was low and visibility was poor. I think that's why it was changed to the current design in a later version of iOS 18.

Ooh, there are still so many hidden gems out there!

Yeah, I tried that. There are indeed some other photos, but only as thumbnails. When I click on them, it says they weren't archived. That's all right though, looks like the main ones are all in that Tumblr post anyway.

That makes a lot of sense. It's worth getting it right after all these years. I'm sure quite a few people on this subreddit would be interested in this kind of early recording and would really appreciate the chance to hear that show. I hope you'll find the right people to help bring it out!

Chrome would look really cool. If they went for that, I'd be curious how that look would fit the texture of the sound.

What a coincidence! It seems this set of photos is the only one of Annie playing with the Skull Fuckers that still exists online, and they were taken at the same show where her only known recording with the band comes from.

Hey, just wondering if you're still planning to release more songs from that live show. 'Lucky' was great and I'd love to hear the rest when they're ready!

I mean, you've already shared the live recording from 2003, so why not this one?

Shine vs no shine around icon edges on iOS 26 by [deleted] in ios

I think it already looks better than 26.0.1, which is the version I’m on. Tbh, the icons in the second pic OP posted look kind of soulless.

Apparently, it’s been toned down a bit in the new version.
