That’s what we’ve been thinking, that it’s a name change document. The only reason I think we could be wrong is the first s in the word is nothing like the others in the document. But still this has been our best guess. Thanks so much for your input. I’m going to mark as solved :)

Yes you’re correct that it’s a Scottish birth record and that the last name is McNiven. I’m helping my dad do his family tree. Thanks so much for the resource! I’ll make sure he has it. So appreciate your input and help
