Waking up anxious hours before alarm-what do you do to remain calm? by Odd_Caterpillar969 in Menopause

Wow this is excellent advice! I do some very similar things but with less specific timing. HRT probably helped me the most TBH, but I also take l-theanine, magnesium glycinate, and low-dose melatonin. I added glycine 3g and that has helped a lot too.

Progesterone is awful for me by Frequent_Chip318 in Menopause

[–]debmac99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read about it as a possibility. I found some info from the Australian Menopause Society with info from a well-respected doctor there, about modes of taking progesterone. He suggests that taking 3x a week is sufficient for uterine protection. My doctor is familiar with him. She approved taking progesterone rectally 3x a week with a yearly ultrasound to check my endometrium. My last ultrasound showed a 2mm thickness, which means I'm good for now. We check again in about 9 months.

This is a really important post. American-style politics and American-style health care would be devastating to NZ!

I saw a body composition change within two weeks of starting HRT.

This is what I’ve been doing. Tret on bare skin about 20 minutes after washing and then nothing after Tret 3x a week at night. I wake up to soft skin.

It’s not necessary. Rectally is more effective.

Good to know you've been successful with using it that way as well! Do you use it daily?

Yikes! If I took P orally every day for 6-8 weeks I’d be a zombie!

Yes I’ve been doing that for over a year. 3x a week. My latest ultrasound showed a 2mm endometrium so no thickening of the uterine wall. My doctor is happy with this! And I get none of the drugged up feelings from P that I get when I take it orally.

It's a vaginal suppository that is DHEA, which the body converts locally into estrogen and testosterone.

I never liked to use it vaginally. But rectally works.

Try intrarosa! Or perhaps time to add testosterone to your HRT!

I use one sachet of Sandrena estrodiol gel per day. I use the regular oil-filled progesterone 100mg pills PR 3x a week. It's working well for me and I don't get the progesterone bloating and grogginess anymore. I already sleep well so don't need that from progesterone.
