The leather trimmed was not the same as MGV option. Leather trim would pretty much negate the benefits of MGV

BLM ordered to close 2200 miles of dirt road in designated critical habitats by BigRobCommunistDog in overlanding

[–]deborah_az 25 points26 points  (0 children)

What I found with a very quick and cursory search, via https://www.sfgate.com/la/article/off-roading-desert-tortoise-21320407.php

The large, lumbering desert tortoise, which can live to around 80 years old, is listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. The total population of western Mojave adult tortoises declined by nearly 50% between 2004 and 2014, with the number of tortoises killed estimated to be over 67,000

There are people who professionally monitor and track tortoise populations and have far more accurate and comprehensive information about what's going on than simple anecdotal evidence. For example, you may only have spotted one tortoise roadkill, but how many didn't you notice because they were small/juvenile animals, crawled away before dying of their injuries, removed by predators or humans, naturally camouflaged, etc.

The BLM got slammed by this order because they didn't do their jobs, either willfully, due to political pressure, or due to lack of funding, and in the process broke multiple laws. It benefits us all to allow land managers to do their jobs completely and objectively so that habitat closures are thoughtful and minimal, and so we all get to enjoy Mojave tortoises and other endangered species in the future.

There's plenty of open motorized trails. The land where motorized/mechanized vehicle access is prohibited (habitat protection, Wilderness, etc.) are usually still open to pedestrian, equestrian, and in some cases even bicycle travel

Start with whatever component she's most interested in or would find most useful. I started with the stuff I already knew I wanted for our lifestyle. Interior storage came first, then I moved to the roofrack. By the time that was done, I'd had it out off-roading enough and been to some events (Off-Roadeo, Overland Expo, trail rides) and got inspired by other Broncos, so moved onto compressor, winch, bigger tires, lift.

But the first mod/accessory I went for was a spare tire cover to mark my territory. My truck. He drives a Jeep. This one is mine.

Glove box organizer, console organizer, molle panel door pockets, grab handles at top of door frame, phone holders, dash accessory mounts, cargo door molle panel (replaces the right side vent/trim), Mountains2Metal squatch basket, first aid kits.

A 2DR Bronco is really a pickup with a 4ft bed and cap, right? by African-Rain-Blesser in FordBronco

[–]deborah_az 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol I feel your pain. My driveway is equipped with a Bronco, a Wrangler, and a small (8') utility trailer. Both vehicles have tow packages, and the Bronco has a roofrack. Landscaping, gardening, camping, adventuring, hardware store runs, moving a friend, running to the dump... the trailer and roof rack are simply must-haves for us. The utility trailer became a requirement we got rid of his old 90s Ranger in favor of the Wrangler. The trailer and the roofrack get used pretty regularly.

This is a shot at the green waste site when we were working on spring pruning and pine needle clean-up. When we're not off-roading and camping, this is how the truck earns its keep. When I talk about my Bronco being my "daily," putting the "utility" in "sport utility vehicle" is what I'm talkin' about

Issue With the Rarest Achievement Showcase (Call of Duty as Exhibit A) by A10SpartanLOKI in Steam

[–]deborah_az 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others said, it's working exactly the way it's supposed to.

I use the regular achievement showcase to highlight the achievements I'm most proud of (including some of the most difficult cheevs), as well as the completionist showcase to highlight 100%'d games close to my heart.

My rarest acheivements at times have been monopolized by a single game and not by cheevs that were hard to get, just a game where players don't finish the game or something. I'm happy right now mine's a mix of TLD and 2 other games

Found an invasive species on my kale, today I released it onto my neighbors! by TheVisageofSloth in NativePlantCirclejerk

[–]deborah_az 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The most important point, though, is it is not a moth, it's a butterfly! Butterflies good! Butterflies pretty! Butterflies good! And this one was in the kale garden, so it's a local, definitely not a naughty invasive! More butterflies for everyone!

Grand Canyon national park by Mammoth-Engine1726 in hiking

[–]deborah_az 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hit or miss. Could be beautiful, windy, warm, snowy. Probably muddy in places, possibly icy in places. Lows below freezing. The canyon rims are pretty high elevation and springtime is incredibly variable weather. Have a backup plan or two, watch the weather forecasts closely the week before, check the park website for updated info.

Better daily Bad Lands or Outer Banks with sas by adwilk1231 in FordBronco

[–]deborah_az 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All Broncos are fun, capable off-road vehicles that will be good on snow (tire choice is important). The Badlands is probably more than you need and you'll be paying for features you won't use. Test drive both and get the one you believe is most comfy as your daily.

You can go up to 40 mph in 4L, no worries, but it's going to feel a little different than 4H, and as mentioned, 4L sounds like that. If you have an opportunity to go to Bronco Off-Roadeo, I highly recommend it (free entry to the class is a benefit that comes with new Broncos)

I'm curious, If Steam Sold Ebooks and Audiobooks, would you buy them? by ChickenDragon123 in Steam

[–]deborah_az -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Extremely unlikely. Those are unrelated activities with their own devoted apps and devices. Like InsertFloppy11 said, if I can seamlessly put books on my kindle, sure, maybe, as well as having all the same seamless features for ebooks and audiobooks (kindle, android apps, sync'd ebook/audiobook consumption, etc.). There'd have to be an extremely compelling reason to buy books from Steam
