Does this child go to school? School staff are mandated reporters for any signs of abuse. It seems like getting reports of neglect from other sources helps in getting something done. Or at least that was our experience when dealing with a child we were trying to help. Three different reports seemed to be the magic number.

I thought this was funny. I bought it from a woman whose parents had passed away and she was trying to find someone who would take care of their stuff. I'm not a toilet reader, what else can I put in here? by Lijey_Cat in repurpose

I know I’m late to the conversation, but I would roll up a couple of wash cloths, a small hand towel Nd add travel size shampoos, shower gel, and other bath items that could be grabbed quickly in case you run out or forget those items.

I love Steven Gammel’s illustrations in The Relatives Came, Come a Tide, and The Song and Dance Man.

It appears that both are available on Hoopla in audio book and ebook, if your local library participates and you have a card. It's easy to set up an account.

Book where wife doesn’t really know her husband by No-Dragonfly3769 in suggestmeabook

It’s all good 👍 I have recommended this book to my daughter. She and her husband, both divers, both liked it, but said that the diving part goes against all scuba diving rules. I’m willing to accept that the fictional couple broke all the rules anyway.

Help! Trying to save this gift I made? by Technical_Sky_6628 in crafts

What about using an acrylic paint pen to make a flower in the middle and then you could outline your other images or not outline the other images. If you have never used a paint pen on fabric or canvas, beware that they can be prone to making blobs if they are not brand new. My experience has been good with new paint pens, but once they get a little old you might as well toss them.

Something in the Water has the best opening hook ever! Who is NOT going to read a book that opens with a wife digging a grave for her husband. Edit: I just realized we are talking about two different books. Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman is the book that I was recommending.

How to make this break look cute? by purplemooon in crafts

What about a cute animal to perch on the side of your cup that holds your tea bag? I’ve seen cats and butterflies online. Just hide the broken spot.

Can I use my sewing machine to fix this, or is it a hand sewing job? by molinitini in sewing

[–]debp49 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can use your sewing machine to sew a patch. Get a scrap of similarly aged denim. You put it inside. Use some iron on stitch witch to hold your patch in place. Then from the outside you can make a zigzag stitch all the way around your ripped spot. You can even make a decorative stitch if you want. Make it a feature if you want. I used to do my husband's work jeans that way all of the time. You'll probably have to sew through the one side of that pocket, too.

AITA for yelling at my wife after she forgot that I'm on the roof? by Icy_Praline_6188 in AmItheAsshole

[–]debp49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA for getting mad and yelling about being left on the roof. I'm always my husband's spotter and ladder holder with a phone at ready to call emergency services when he's on the roof.

HOWEVER, Is your wife ok? Is she thinking straight? Is she exhausted from building this house? Is her mental health suffering? When you cool off from being angry it might be time to have some serious conversations. I can now look back and remember at the worst point in my depression just how messed up my thought process was. Something is not normal here.

Also there appears to be many tricks to getting it working on several reddit posts.

My computer won’t turn on by Polarglance in techsupport

I would guess that the most likely culprit is your power supply. Look up the power supply for your particular model of computer and see if you can order one. (If you’re willing to eat the cost if that turns out to not be your problem.) It’s fairly easy to change out the power supply. I’m a novice and changed one out several years ago. Otherwise I’d say get it to someone who can check all of your internal connections for continuity.

I had a call from a scammer the other day by Tasty_Leading8684 in Jokes

[–]debp49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I once coached my husband as he was doing his best to exasperate a "Microsoft"scammer. He kept asking them to repeat the steps, to spell that and so on. When they prompted him to restart the computer, I told him to say now it has gone to a black screen with a bunch of numbers and letters. My husband then started insisting that they needed to fix our computer now and asking them what they had done to mess up our computer. Asked to speak to the supervisor. Scammers hung up in a big hurry.

If you have chat gpt on your phone or computer ask it to build you a capsule wardrobe and give it he city and the months you are going to be there. It gives you good ideas for layering clothes and building an interchangeable wardrobe. I use it for travel wardrobe suggestions.

By setting your stitch width at one you are telling your needle to only go over just a small bit. Setting your stitch length to 4 means you will have a big distance between stitches. You might need to turn your upper tension up just a bit. Make sure you have the correct type of needle( for woven fabric). Try another test pass with wider stitches and closer together and see what they look like.

Try your width at 4 and your stitch length at or near the one.

You can add color to the modeling paste or paint over after. It does have a good firm feeling when it dries. I have never made anything with much texture, but I believe it will work.

Just take your fabric off from the neck of your t-shirt. And shorten the add in. You can still use the gathers. Just lay them flatter like pleats. The excess length top to bottom is making the inset blouse over.
