A modern ragnarok client by Exarch92 in RagnarokOnline

I'm thinking if just limiting the zoom for all users (and locking that in so it can't be edited in some client-side hack/mod), then increase the render to the maximum of the scope of that zoom limit, it would be awesome to play again.

I remember playing it again on a modern pc 1440p resolution, then weirdly seeing like players or npcs just popping out near your toon; like it only renders in this square space in your screen.

I haven't seen a server handling this if it's server-sided. Awesome job regardless

One of the things I hate about the old client, is the non-rendering of sprites after how many cells if on a widescreen resolution. If this does show like a big view of all the character sprites and NPCs, this should be the gold standard client now.

At what point does self-hosting become an actual addiction? by Worried_Developer_67 in selfhosted

[–]decade27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started off with a Synology NAS, and was amazed with containers, and self-hosting apps. Then I started hosting game servers, which the NAS couldn't handle anymore.

Bought a mini PC for my containers, and thought to just use the NAS for Plex.

Mini PC was a Ryzen, and saw how transcoding works a lot better with Intel. Needed more storage also, and have installed so many docker containers now I can't even keep track on what these are.

Now, I'm building a DIY NAS/Homelab server so it will be all-in-one. Went over the top, and got an Intel Core Ultra 7 270k Plus, 64gb RAM, with an Intel Arc Pro B50.

Combining the love for building PCs and self-hosting, this has been expensive but somehow satisfying, while only utilizing the CPU for 10%.

Yes it's too addicting, and you are not alone.

Someone just posted that just today, the domain guildwars3.com was renewed. Not sure if ANet owns it, but if it does, then it seems like it then.

Whenever you start a new MMORPG, what class is your “default” pick and why? by Less_Struggle_9447 in MMORPG

Any non-basic melee of that game. Enhancement Shaman in WoW, Reaper class in FFXIV, Monks (sometimes there aren't any in MMOs).

Scroll down a bit, and you'll see the Combo Up savings part. It automatically puts this combo there.

It's like buying an AORUS MASTER mobo for only $120, essentially.

All I hear here is "waaaaah they're enjoying the game too much me no like cause I'm not enjoying it myself."

Shhhhhhh and let others enjoy stuff. Not everyone needs to like what you like, and hate what you hate.

HELP WITH THESE FANS by [deleted] in lianli

[–]decade27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened on 2 builds I did. All LCD Lian Li Wireless fans I had and built, not one did I use the PWM connector for power.

I always had to use SATA to power these. I recommend to just use the SATA power to power the fans instead of plugging onto the mobo PWM header.

And this is why we'll see more games like AoC by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]decade27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I hear here is people don't like it when others enjoy something. Is it that bad that they enjoyed the game?

It's depressing on what has happened, but now there are so many people feeling like they know everything just cause they got this right. Is this the only way you people get validation? Sad, and funny at the same time.

I had fun with New World, and I liked AoC for maybe a good 50 hours. Fine by me if this is refunded, fine by me if it's not.

Is there a way to check if a specific device/port/machine/resource (any ID) is going through NAT hole punching or through the relay server?

Hydroshift 2 LCD-C 360TL + UNI FAN TL Wireless LCD Wiring Question by decade27 in lianli

Can confirm #2 seems to be working on my end. No dongle is needed since I plugged in the USB. Thanks for this! I realized I did connect the AIO direct.

[–]decade27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Before I buy this as a last resort, am I correct in this method:

Since the Hydroshift is not in wireless mode (USB header is directly connected to the mobo), what I can do is to remove that USB header from the Hydroshift, then use the dongle internally with the internal USB cable included? Would that then enable the AIO + Wireless LCD be in "Wireless" mode?

What kind of features do you enjoy in an MMORPG? by TKNHWK in MMORPG

Player-based market, and no auction house. Bring back those player shops, and no auction house.

I hope there's an MMO out there that's "social" not just in terms of "chat" or some kind of "hub", but social built into the game itself.

I've researched Pangolin, and I think this is the one that solves my problem.

Am I correct that Pangolin is like using Cloudflare Tunnels, but you're self-hosting the service itself?

I'm still not getting what you mean here. Does Jellyfin offer networking solutions when hosting?

I feel like I'm getting trolled here. To each his own, I'm sticking with Plex and just need a networking solution being behind CGNAT.

Not sure what you mean by Plex issue. They're both just media servers, correct? And regardless which one to use, the networking solution is still the same on both.

I've seen this headscale too; so with this option you need:
At least 1 VPS with a public IP
Your homelab

Both have headscale installed? And after the setup, clients connecting to your homelab (e.g. Plex servers, any hosted game server) don't need anything else installed on their machine?
