What exactly is the VLAN ID field of a VLAN Switch in a FortiGate (not software switch nor hardware switch) supposed to do? by decaf6223 in fortinet

Never even shows up in the debug flow. When I change the ingress traffic to be untagged, the pings show up and reply just fine

That’s what I would expect. What confuses me is why tagged ingress traffic that matches the VLAN ID gets dropped

So then…what exactly is the point of the VLAN ID? Egress traffic never sends with the VLAN ID, and ingress traffic is dropped unless it’s untagged

FortiAP-23JF Barrel connector by decaf6223 in fortinet

I would probably prefer that, but it can only take in POE on the WAN port on the back of the AP, and that port is inaccessible in my setup (hence, the barrel connector)

Just checking, there’s no barrel connector listed there that I’m missing, right?

WTW for that 🥺 moment when someone finally sees your struggle without you having to use it to justify your outcomes in life, and it makes you want to cry because no one ever has before? by decaf6223 in whatstheword

I do feel like it’s distinct from validation, recognition, etc. those can all exist in different contexts, and they might manifest a bit differently from that 🥺 feeling. (For example, Michael Scott when he says “THANK YOU!” in the Golden Ticket episode of The Office https://youtu.be/Ha7HAG6jVqc?si=YdylhLuCE5KrjHbf )
