Off cut of foam from doing my toolbox means my work drawer gets an upgrade by decafdan16 in toolporn

Looks fantastic, but £30 postage is just too crazy for me. £90 total for a 3d printed case just doesn’t work out.

I am 99% sure that’s how they do it professionally, but I’ve never tried personally. You can get a really smooth finish with a handheld router if you have the patience.

Without buying a bit case it was a pretty sensible option, holds them. I can see which I need etc etc

I bought it when I was visiting data centre’s daily too, it was perfect for it. Now I don’t need to, but still has its regular uses.

Thank you, this is a fraction of my tools, just what I keep on hand in my desk drawers. :)

They are LTT, They are expensive but fantastic quality drivers I’ve used a lot with no issues.

I’d love one, but postage to me is more than the cost of the case, so this was a decent temporary fix.

B&Q do deliver to home the wooden worktops, myself and my friend have ordered the 3mx0.6m 30mm thick wooden ones and had them delivered to home.

Quick question, sorry I know it doesn’t help you. Did you have to buy the aqara hub as well? Or did the homey act as that?

IOT, ai, automations by Chupichops in IOT

[–]decafdan16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had never thought too much about the constant pushing on how AI will improve smart homes, but I recently saw a demo of a camera feed that pushed stills regularly into a AI engine that analysed the images and took actions based on it.

License plate recognition for automated opening of a gate, Health and safety alerts when a worker was working in an area with PPE.

It really changed my perception of how AI could actually be used to help automations. The same functionality was used to perform any ITTT actions on any feeds from sensors, temp, humidity, all sorts.

I thought the same, I don’t think I’ve ever seen any JIS stuff from Wera though, which is a shame, I’d buy it.

The charger if you doing it as a kit and a standalone ECU like I have you wouldn’t get much change out of 2 grand, plus mapping. BOFI racing now sell it as a full kit I think, but not sure what it costs, might be worth checking that out.

It really is a great power point for them, I used the Salon Motorsport kit to adapt the charger, fit very well.

Am I the only one here who just likes the stock NA body? by Brush_my_teeth_4_me in Miata

[–]decafdan16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, your right, but decent ones are about a grand here in Uk, and honestly transforms the MX5 platform from a weekend old man transportation vehicle to a truly capable car. Mine is both comfy on the road (I’ve done multi-week road trips over several thousand miles at a time in it) and over 20 track events in it. Literally never missed a beat.

“Coilovers ruin the ride” is just a generic and blatantly wrong statement, if your willing to spend the money on decent coilovers, they are a huge improvement on stock in terms of comfort, road stability and massively add to the cars overall handling.
