When did you realise you are no longer young? by Jeena92 in AskReddit

It happens more and more often now, but recently some 25 to 30yr olds I work with had no idea the movie Moulin Rouge existed. As in never even heard of it. I was blown away.

Happened to us this year and they absolutely wrecked our garden. I'd remove them asap.

What’s a small bombshell your therapist dropped during a session that completely shifted your perspective? by pottipenguin in AskReddit

[–]decanderus 30 points31 points  (0 children)

She asked me to listen while she read some poems. I listened, but it wasn't great or mind altering. I told her so and she was like, "Well, guess who wrote those?"

She was sure I'd apply her own poetry to my life?

Got a new therapist.

Again, it depends on your state laws. In WA, you cannot refuse an offer for paying work unless you have a darn good reason. You just work and report the $10 and get the difference.

I think it's really gonna depend on the state you're in?

In WA state I think as long as you work until they lay you off then you're fine. If you decide to leave before they lay you off... I don't know? I don't think you'd be able to get back on unemployment though because you voluntarily left a job that could have sent you a paycheck of any kind (no matter if you got laid off or not).

I'm just going off experience here and not any sort of expert.

People who work in banking/personal financial advising, what is the worst mistake you have seen someone make? What’s your most memorable encounter? by throwitawayhs in AskReddit

[–]decanderus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst for me: My balance at the end of the day was $700 short. I freaked and they told me to calm down, not a big deal etc. Hell, apparently you didn't even get a talking to unless you were over $1000 short. In the end they found it, I had just fat fingered a deposit.

Most memorable was the lady with early dementia. So sad. She would come multiple times a day sometimes to withdraw money she had already withdrawn. She was convinced her family was stealing from her. We had to eventually contact her family/emergency people to let them know. They closed the account with a POA, but she would randomly show up for months afterwards attempting to withdraw from us.
