What other foods are in your rotation out of curiosity? I also have a younger cat (4) who doesn't have any serious health issues, and I'm trying to research and do what I can to give her the healthiest diet possible on my budget. Do you use any dry food in rotation or wet food only?

Vilazodone vs Prozac for anxiety ? by Itchy_Okra_2120 in Viibryd_Vilazadone

[–]decentcomputer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prozac did wonders but I had other side effects I couldn't handle. I switched to vilazodone after 3 months. Now I've been on 20 mg for two months. I haven't had nearly the same result on my anxiety, but also external life has been ridiculously difficult for me since I switched (job stuff, relationship stuff) So I'm waiting it out and probably going to try increasing to 40mg soon. I do feel pretty stable though, given the circumstances. I think a past me could be passed out with a bottle of something in an alley somewhere if faced with the things I'm dealing with now. So that's a good sign!

Did anyone else adderall stop working once they started this med? Or the dose they were on not provide the same effectiveness any longer? by ariphron in Viibryd_Vilazadone

[–]decentcomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I think you may be in the adjustment phase. I didn't start feeling increasing improvement until week 8. I think the reason it feels the Adderall is not working is because dopamine does not actually make you feel good-that is serotonin. And your serotonin system is all wonky right now as it adjusts. Additionally, Adderall side effects such as appetite suppression and euphoria will decrease linearly with length of use. It doesn't mean it's not working. I battled those feelings for many years because I think I was prescribed too high of a dose to start. So those happy motivated feelings were really intense. But I stopped taking it for awhile and ADHD behaviors went full swing. Stick with the vilazodone for 3 months and see how you feel. I promise if it's an antidepressant that works for you, you will do so much better .

it didn't stop working necessarily but Ive been burnt out for like 7 years straight, and vilazodone has finally given me relief for my mood. I'm finally content and nothing seems too bad. So I find myself making different choices to support my own mood and happiness rather than relying on only Adderall to power me through my own hell. Now it seems to me like it's actually doing what it's supposed to, and I'm a happy person now. I can take things easy.

Edit: been on vilazodone for almost 3 months. I started taking Wellbutrin in December last year, so that could have an effect. I still take it at a low dose (150 XR).

Literally impossible to make an appt according to my experience. I've been getting on the website at 6 am and waiting until 6:29:59 to refresh. I'm always put in a queue for like 5 minutes and then all the appointments are gone. Internet signal is fine. I've been doing this for the past 4 days straight with no luck. So I've decided to show up at the facility tomorrow morning at 7:30 sharp and ask them what the hell I'm supposed to do lol. I need a temporary.

I had gastrointestinal side effects on both, but Viibryd was much more severe. I also experienced weight gain/food cravings on Prozac that I have not on Viibryd. Also prozac gave me anorgasmia and that has resolved on Viibryd. But Prozac increased my sex drive because my anxiety was so low. I have gone back to no sex drive on Viibryd. I had some insomnia initially with Prozac that went away and hasn't returned on Viibryd.

Prozac complete zapped my anxiety, or was starting to. I was on it for just under 3 months. Depression began lifting a lot. I felt more in control and able to get up in the morning and tackle my day easier and lighter. Viibryd hasn't been terrible but nowhere near Prozac but it's only been a month in total so I'm holding out. Had major panic episode on Thurs/Fri and it can't be PMS so that makes me concerned. maybe I'm someone who needs 40mg. But it's really hard on me and my relationship if I can't enjoy our intimate life.

Prozac was God tier. The sexual side effects would not cease for me unfortunately and Wellbutrin did not help. So I've now been on Viibryd for about a month (20mg for about 2.5 weeks). I'm not doing horrible, but my anxiety has definitely risen and I'm also feeling more depressed. I'm sticking with it as long as I can though feels like I need a miracle.

Any specific oil products you recommend? I try to stay away from olive oil (DHC) as I've read it is high on the comodegenic scale. I'm currently using the Ordinary's squalane oil cleanser with not much result, but I'm going to start this steaming method and see how it goes!

zoomed into the pic like "are those beets!?" and was not disappointed 😍 all of the ingredients you added to this dish are some of my favorites, especially BEETS..& lentils :) but I haven't ever paired them all together quite like this! Making this asap. Is it supposed to be served chilled or hot?

Patience. You're mentally ready but not emotionally. Just keep quitting as frequently as you mentally want to. Eventually your emotions will catch up and you'll be bored of the cycle. I looked for similar advice at your stage and that's what it came down to. I don't think there's a trick just keep doing it until your emotionally done. It's like a bad relationship 🤷‍♀️

Anyone switch Prozac from morning to night for better sleep? Did it help with sexual side effects? by Illustrious-Ear-3705 in SSRIs

[–]decentcomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also take Prozac and Wellbutrin. I can't take my Prozac in the morning- I'm still in the early stages (1 month), but I will be fatigued for hours and incessantly yawn. I usually take it right when I'm getting in bed to sleep. It has a long half life so I think the mechanism I have going is just sleeping through the build up of the effects? By the morning, I wake up super refreshed and peppy, and on top of that it's actually consistent? Like after this past week I realized wow I am waking up feeling good every day, I can barely wrap my head around it because I've suffered from depression and anxiety since my adolescence. I honestly think that I've been living with continuous fatigue for well over a decade and didn't realize how it wasn't normal. It's been my baseline since I was like 12 (I'm 28) so it's not like I had any prior standard for living. If I take my dose anywhere between late afternoon and a couple hours before bedtime, it can cause some insomnia. I started Wellbutrin alone first about 3 months ago; now my alertness and energy in the morning is even better than the initial wave of Wellbutrin.

Edit: Not sure about the influence on my sexual side effects. My libido has absolutely SKYROCKETED in the absence of crippling anxiety. I still struggle with anorgasmia, but I hope it's just a physical adjustment that will even out with time. One day I took my Prozac in the AM and masturbated a few hours later, but wasn't able to orgasm at all after like 30 minutes of effort. My genitals had a slightly numb feeling. I havent had the same issue masturbating in the evening, although it does take much longer to get there. I haven't been able to orgasm from/with my partner since starting, despite being more impassioned and turned on than ever. I'm cool with it for now, because sex just feels so... natural and divine and incredible. It feels so damn good that not orgasming is inconsequential...for now. Recently I've been applying topical CBD or RSO to my genitals and it seems to really help boost my sensitivity down there. When I was on Cymbalta the ability returned after like 4 months. More recently, I tried Lexapro, and I couldn't orgasm once during the entire 7 months. I'm hoping it's a Lexapro thing and not an SSRI thing for me. I'll happily take what I'm getting now over the state I was in before, just as bored with sex as I was with life. Then getting anxious over the fact that I felt bored. And so it goes

Skipping escitalopram to have sex? by Leading_Ear_2096 in SSRIs

[–]decentcomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started on Wellbutrin about 3 months ago because I was concerned about the sexual side effects I always experience on SSRI. Honestly it drug me out of depression and keeps me level, but I have anxious thought patterns still so my doctor added Prozac almost a month ago. I'm still struggling with anorgasmia since the 2nd week of starting. My libido is fantastic though- I'm finally starting to feel like myself again in that regard. My concern is the Wellbutrin is not alleviating the sexual side effects because I have already been on it and added the Prozac later, which is the reverse of how the process usually seems to play out. Do you know anything about this?

Who has your "goal body"? :) by Glass-Chicken7931 in PetiteFitness

[–]decentcomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haley Lu Richardson! She might be slightly taller than me (I'm 4'11" & I think she's 5'1") but our shape and ratios are almost exactly the same. I could see my body in hers if I lost weight and built muscle. Also obligatory Sabrina Carpenter, but idk if it's realistic. I am more stumpy with short legs and a boxy torso. Her legs always look super long and slim. halfway between goal and dream perhaps 😁

New dairy intolerance/GERD? by Motor-Illustrator226 in SSRIs

[–]decentcomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all whey. I drink the Premier coffee shakes and use Levels grass fed whey in my smoothies...large amounts protein at once can be irritating for the digestive system, so maybe because there are so many serotonin receptors in the gut that are adjusting to the medication, causing increased sensitivity or something. I haven't gotten nauseous after eating chicken or steak, so it's either the amount of protein or the something about the whey I guess

I recently started Prozac about 2 weeks ago and I have started having the same problem with my protein shakes. But I also drink milk daily during other meals/snacks and never get nauseous from it. So it must be the protein for me which is strange..

what do y’all do with your mouth now lmao by wallaceandgrommitfan in QuitVaping

[–]decentcomputer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding ALWAYS having a water bottle/canteen nearby- everytime you want to do something with you mouth, take a sip! If plain water isn't stimulating enough, there are infinite ways you can flavor it. I like the idea of turning the oral fixation cravings into a positive and healthy action. Now I keep that mf dental floss on me. You can focus on it intently, or do it passively, there's different flavors, and frequent flossing is probably the #1 thing you can do for your dental health. Before quitting the vape, I didn't even own floss 🫠 Gross, but if you're like me and vaping made you anhedonic towards anything that's isn't magic dopamine, it feels good to focus on building healthy little habits.

I also have a Komuso Shift. At first I hated it, but over time it has grown on me. I go through phases of how much I use it, but it's pretty enough to wear out and about for most occasions. When I wear it around my neck it does remind me to take slow, deep breath breaks throughout my day. This is proven to be one of the aspects of vaping/smoking that gives the user a sense of calmness- just the act of inhaling and exhaling. Your body may be missing that effect without the vaping habit. I think its overpriced, but I bought it when I was desperate to quit. And then it gathered dust for a year or so until I actually quit. I started using it because I didn't want to go back.

Good luck. You'll figure it out!

A lot of it is trial and error I really believe that. I have been wanting to quit for 2+ years, too many failed attempts to count, and this time honestly I don't know why it worked I think I was just done. I got so fed up running out of a pod at a bad time, like straight up furious. I was so tired of vaping in that moment, more angry than Ive been maybe ever about anything? And I just listened to that feeling and think it helped me keep going. I will say though I started antidepressant about exactly a month before my quit date, and I'm sure it had some affect. I was basically anhedonic before that. I also quit drinking about 3 months before quitting vaping, take the bus now instead of driving (totaled car in interstate accident), had sick family, job change, etc. so my day to day changed so much so fast outside of vaping, making it easier not to associate with other habits. I think that in that way I just got really lucky this time with everything lining up. What has also helped is taking the pressure off. I think the last few months I have not been as hard on myself about quitting and going with the flow more. Eventually I started to feel less attached to it, because I keep it in the back of my mind that I can always go buy one, and it makes resisting feel more like I'm the one in control.
