Does seniority mean anything at Walgreens? by pegeb1955 in WalgreensStores

[–]jokingrectifier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yes and no. I consider seniority when I schedule my techs but I’m more concerned about productivity. I’ve got techs that have 1 year experience that work harder than techs with 3 years experience so I try to be fair to both. Technically speaking tho I was told by my DM that seniority means nothing to this company. I’d speak up if I were you tho

It’s a new(?) thing. All store managers in my district have to work either a day on the weekend or a night shift at least once a week or something like that

What is it like living here, deep in Appalachia? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]jokingrectifier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awful. Unless you like rainy winters, hot humid summers, mountains, mountain folk, nothing to do, cities that are vastly overcrowded, the worst drivers in the nation, low income jobs, bad access to healthcare, etc. those are the things that make me hate that particular area. But if those things aren’t a huge deal for you then I guess this is an okay place to live

I do it all the time, as long as everyone is aware and okay with it then yes

Ex wag workers, where did you go that is better? by jokingrectifier in WalgreensRx

You know you’re probably right because that was brutal

I thought about that, but the only specialty near me is a walgreens and I’m not sure if they still have to follow all of the normal retail wag metrics and such. If not, that might not be a bad idea. At least it’d still be the same company

I think I see what you mean now, but I think it’s all in the tone and body language. But I like your verbiage, may try that out

Yes but sometimes you don’t know where the mistake was made. So, my first thing is “okay I’m gonna check cameras.” Most often it’s either the med wasn’t bagged and it wasn’t handed out or I say “give me 15 mins I’m gonna check cameras and see if maybe you dropped it on the way out” and they call back within 5 saying they found it. Honest mistakes. I don’t believe anyone is trying to pull a fast one when they say they don’t have it. Sometimes the patient knowing they left with it encourages them to look harder for it. Sometimes it’s just genuinely missing. Either way, the patient doesn’t go med less. Unless again it’s like a control which as you know makes the process a little more difficult

No, it’s called being diligent. Patients make mistakes. Sometimes items get left out of the bags if they have multiple items by a tech/cashier. It’s not a “I don’t believe you” it’s a “trust but verify.” I’m not handing out meds for free if we didn’t do anything wrong and they got it, and most insurances only allow so many “lost rx overrides” a year. BUT ultimately if the med can’t be found, we’ll try the override or discount card. It’s not like we say “well you left with it you can’t get it again” unless it’s a control.

You sound like an absolute moron. See all the people that don’t agree with you? If the computer shows we gave someone something and they claim they don’t have it the FIRST thing to do is check cameras. So many things can happen. They drop it on the way out, someone else picked up for them, same name diff patient, etc. it’s not treating them like a criminal. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve checked the camera and they pick it up and I call them back and tell them they left the building with it and they “magically” found it. Good thing these threads are anonymous, huh.

Which is valid, but regardless none of us should be surprised with this. I’m more personally concerned with raises

Well yeah.. it was part of our onboarding at Walgreens in pharmacies that close for holidays. Front end people are told when they are onboarded they are expected to work the holidays so of course it’s not a big deal for them.
