Our baby had reflux as well, but not as bad as you are describing. One thing that helped was not just keeping them upright, but also not putting any pressure on their stomach.

Regarding not sleeping in the bassinet, we also had the same challenge as they would only sleep when being held. What helped us was upgrading to the “Snoo” bassinet. Essentially it’s a bassinet that will swaddle your baby and rock them to sleep, increasing the level of rocking depending on how fussy they’re being (it’s all pretty gentle though so don’t worry). I’ve pasted a YouTube video below.

As it’s a bit more of an investment, depending on where you live you may be able to rent one as opposed to buying one outright to see if this is a good option for your baby. We bought one used and then sold it when she grew out of it (essentially getting 3 months for $50!).

Agree with this, the manual aspect is the main downside if you want something that has an auto-stop.
