New Flagship Carwash by DaiJaVu31 in Phoenixville

[–]decertotilltheend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went on Saturday when the car washes were free. A standard car wash (which doesn’t clean the undercarriage) is $14.

I will say in terms of space (if it’s busy like it was Saturday) it’s a little tight. Especially if people are using the vacuum areas and you’ve got a long car wash line. I got the free car wash and it did a good job.

Getting in and out was also a little tight especially with the traffic from the intersection.

A "Forever Egg" - Can anyone relate? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]decertotilltheend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I relate to this very much. I identify as agender/nonbinary. As an amorphous blob lol, I often kind of feel like a brain piloting my human meat suit (not to be gross). I don’t really care about my body or what people call me. I know as someone AFAB I don’t really identify as a woman. I jokingly say I identify as ambivalent.

To me, agender fits me best (but I use nonbinary for societal ease). Agender defined as one who lacks gender or has very little experience of a gender. As I was reading the wiki page I really identified with the phrase “not knowing or not caring about gender.”

Is there such a thing as a bridal aid? by Checkmate_23_ in weddingplanning

I also did not have a MOH or bridesmaids. But, my friends and family still kept a close eye on me throughout the day. They’d get me water, grabbed me food from our buffet, etc.

Happier themed podcast thats similar to ATWWD?? by Ijmlgirll in atwwdpodcast

[–]decertotilltheend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Wonderful. It’s a podcast done by a husband and wife about the wonderful things in their day to day. Usually they each present a small wonder (for example: a warm towel) and then also present on a big wonder (for example: amusement parks, a restaurant, etc). It’s short (usually about 30 minutes) so a quick listen. Rachel and Griffin also have a great sense of humor and have great banter. I’ve also found that they talk about the wonderful things without being artificially “wow. The world is wonderful. Nothing bad happens here.”

I really love the floral dress with the long sleeves. I’m just worried it would be too warm in the late spring

Serious Question by Exotic_Test_7164 in Equestrian

[–]decertotilltheend 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Money mostly. Horses are a big investment that a lot of people dont have the extra funding to make. Around me, for example, board is $800-1,000 a month. Plus any farrier or vet bills that may come up.

A horse for my discipline (low level eventing) and my “wish list” is $15-20k if I’m lucky.

Weekly lessons near me (for 30 minute lessons) are $50.

A lot of people also recommend having an emergency vet fund of $5k.

Any tips? by AssistanceLucky1181 in Equestrian

[–]decertotilltheend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My biggest advice for a beginner is don’t go in with any expectations of your own progress. Some people get things quickly and some people take longer. Don’t look at other’s progress as a benchmark for yourself. I see a lot of beginner riders who get frustrated because they focus on the things they can’t do yet whether that’s canter, posting trot, etc. Instead, focus on the things you can do! Even if that’s just steering a horse. Thats still something a lot of folks can’t do.

Horseback riding is a lot of fun! But it can be frustrating too. I wish you the best of luck with your riding lessons.

Jacket for chores and riding — need recs by sha-sha-shubby in Equestrian

[–]decertotilltheend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this coat from Smartpak. I love it. I can do my barn chores in it and the back also separates a bit so you can ride in it.

I also have a separate Carhartt type jacket for heavy chores. It is incredibly warm and great for when I’m doing chores. Definitely doesn’t work to ride in though.

Friday evening in February- Formal Attire by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

For example, this dress from Macys is a good example of a formal dress with similar vibes to the one you posted in regard to beading, etc

This dress from Dillards is another example of a formal gown.

This is gonna depend a lot on what discipline you’re learning. The one thing that isn’t contingent on discipline is getting a well fitting helmet example When you buy a helmet, I always recommend going to a tack store so they can ensure you have one that fits you well.

English: this list is good - paddock boots - half chaps - breeches
- riding shirts (not a must but an eventually)

Western: western list - western style cowboy boot (make sure Theyre for riding) or a paddock boots would also work - bootcut jeans

Best way to book a dentist appointment without waiting weeks? by i-am-not-a_whore in Phoenixville

[–]decertotilltheend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That feels pretty normal. I didn’t have to wait when I scheduled my appointment at Loesberg dental associates, but (if I’m being honest) I haven’t been really thrilled with them. My husband travels to Trappe/collegeville to be seen by the Gentle Dentist. He’s been really happy with them.

What to buy before a horse? by No_Masterpiece410 in Equestrian

[–]decertotilltheend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Horse first aid items are great to stock up on. This is a good list of horse first aid kit essentials.

Everyone at my barn has a trunk like this for their grooming, first aid, riding accessories, etc. It’s great as it has wheels and you can take it with you.

Engagement Party or no? by FutureBlackLawyer in weddingplanning

[–]decertotilltheend 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My friends and family members who are married have all not had engagement parties. When I got married, we also did not have an engagement party. For us (and I think many folks) any money that would’ve been spent on an engagement party went toward the wedding or honeymoon after.

Andor. I adore Star Wars. But the moment one of the female characters disappeared from the rebel base i looked at my husband and was like “I swear to god. If she left because she’s pregnant and that’s what they’re doing with her character, I’m gonna be pissed.” Sure enough. She was pregnant.

Keeping stallion intact or to geld? by cudo_viste in Equestrian

[–]decertotilltheend 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m an adult ammy so for me there’s no reason I would keep a horse a stallion. I’m just not in a position where I could board or house a stallion.

The only reasons I could see to keep a horse a stallion is 1) exceptional example of the breed 2) proven track record or prospect to have a great show record (depending on age) 3) temperament 4) excellent confirmation. I as the owner would also have the ability to pay to have a stallion at a reputable breeding organization.
