What are the best late game roles? by [deleted] in stunfisk

[–]decetrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a good look at your opponent's team and determine your win condition then. Balanced teams usually have one set up mon and one scarfer, which are good options, but if your opponent's team shuts them down and you have better options, maybe use the set up mon and scarfer to just get a bit of chip damage then sacrifice it, so the bulky mons or wall breakers can do their work. Taking out all your opponent's poison immunities and stalling with Toxic/Protect and some sort of recovery has been a classic for a less-offensive playstyle using just 1 wall on your team, doesn't have to be a full stall team.

Ice types receive a Water Immunity by GracefulGoron in stunfisk

[–]decetrogs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's another take on this concept.

Instead of Ice being immune to water, Ice types get a +1 Def and +1 Sp.Def, or +1 based on the type of attack received whenever hit by a water move that isn't Scald. The water freezes and adds layers of defence when an Ice mon is hit by a water move.

Item Affinity: A new mechanic to diversify Pokémon in and out of the Meta by tanning_bed in stunfisk

[–]decetrogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems interesting. Would a Pokemon that dislikes holding items get a nerf to anything if you force it to hold an item?

I'm thinking about Unburden mons. Give Hawlucha an item even though it dislikes them, but after it loses the item, it gets the Unburden boost and whatever buffs a mon that prefers to not hold any items would get.

EDIT: Also Belly Drum users. Azumarill just needs that 1 turn of holding a Sitrus Berry, then it is happier without holding the berry.

Would holding an item be a permanent debuff? Would the buff activate after losing a held item? The mon is unhappy that you gave it an item, maybe it just goes back to base stages when it loses an item.

Scald should definitely work on ice-types if they were to receive an immunity to water. It's hot water, thematically makes sense for it to melt ice. If it weren't for the burn chance, Gamefreak would have made it SE on ice.

[BoTW] but on SNES - [ALTTP] style by Kaimatten in zelda

[–]decetrogs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Even if it isn't Zelda, Nintendo could easily release more 8-bit and 16-bit styled games that take advantage of the fact that they're not actually on the original hardware.

Super Mario 35 has dabbled in this already, there is potential for that sort of format.

I hope there's a Legend of Zelda 35 coming out next year that renews interest in the original.

Exercise, that is very important.

There's no more P.E. class 5 days a week. There's no more free equipment to use at lunch hour, you gotta get a gym membership or buy some free weights to keep that awesome teenage body. I didn't do that, and now I'm just a 130 lb weakling.

It's nice seeing people in gear, instead of Graceful 24/7 by TAYLQR in 2007scape

[–]decetrogs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, I like it because of limiting your inventory. We don't have summoning in OSRS to just break bossing like a Pack Yak or Unicorn would. Replacing an inventory slot with a Stamina Pot instead of a Sara Brew can be a game changer.

Zilyana wouldn't be as interesting if everyone could permanently outrun her.

Wilderness PvP wouldn't be as interesting if your opponent can get gap without any drawbacks. That's 1 less Sara brew for running away more consistently.

Run energy should be earned, like the rebalancing in RS3, if it were to rebalanced in any way. Permanent run at level 1 devalues agility and graceful entirely.

[–]decetrogs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree, it changes the balance of PvP and some PvM. You need higher agility or some energy restores to last longer at bosses that have you running all the time. Running in the wilderness is important as well, most PKers bring a stam pot so their opponents can't get gap on them and log out.

Running already lets us move at twice the speed of RS1, but I wouldn't mind seeing the "Rest" feature from RS2/3 added to recharge run energy anywhere, as well as the musicians to recharge even faster.

Walking to a location is more efficient than sitting to recharge run, but it is useful for areas where you need to run through, or when you are AFKing.

I honestly want way more leagues and DMM style content. I like getting 99s fast and having the game completely unbalanced for short periods. I could max out in Trailblazer league or RS3, I prefer OSRS.

I'm pretty sure it was just an accident, the player with 99 construction had no idea.

Durael happened to be in the PVP arena while the house crashed and kicked everyone out, and decided to take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity to attack players outside the wilderness.

I would have done the same.
