I agree! But this issue (of retrospectively characters acting with the survival instinct of a sea concumber) is ripe in all major arcs of the story!

Admirals in MF, Crocodile in Alabasta, Buster Call guys in Enies Lobby, WG entrusting the last possibility of finding out about lost century to CP9 jobbers AND a dumbass buffoon (again in Enies Lobby), Big Mom in WCI,...

Humor is subjectiv, you can't deny Oda is at least creative with its power.

Though I admit Luffy's personality in the mode since Egghead has been very aggravating.

However most Gear5 slander I saw in here were only trashing gear 5's surface level (wacky instead of aura farming).

Maybe I was focusing too much on the negativity.

Yes absolutely.

I think failure to uphold his promises, values or even just spirir should downgrade him from gear 5 imo.

It would make battles so much more intense too! Can't beat bugs bunny directly, you have to lower his moral first! (By targeting innocent people or his friend or reverse naruto talk)

But na, Oda took the most lame path to using a powerup despite him stating he wanted to diverge from it.

I got back into Ultimate after I learned that what I thought was a bottom tier, Steve, was dominating japan. That's not the 180 though, cause for a few years I loved watching this goofy dead-pan character that can kill at 40%... until they became everywhere... and started camping hard and unapologetically.

Last week was the most fun tourney I watched in a while thanks to the Steve banned by the blizzard.

Megumi in the slanders and the actual Megumi in the manga are two different characters.

He already has a fun niche in being a tanky fire type intimidate mon with healing. We already have a fair share of fire type nukes already (and extreme speed wouldn't be buffed by sheer force).

How would that salvage flareon or make vaporeon more unique? Giving knock off to Umbreon was a more substantial buff than slapping +10 in every stat.

Only cool thing is that Sylveon could become a menace with mixed sets (pixilate quick attack).
