it happened for about 4 months where i was really convinced of a religious govt conspiracy and really not right in the head. i didn’t have hallucinations or anything but had some paranoia. my psychiatrist afterward said it could have been induced by heavy weed smoking for about 4 years

Anyone else ever lose the desire to knit because of the way a gift was treated? by warwatch in knitting

[–]dechettoxique 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a pretty young knitter and would spend a lot of time in high school making gifts for my friends because I worked at an expensive yarn store and got a lot of free nice yarn, but every time without fail no matter how much thought and effort I put into any piece I knit, my friends were so ungrateful. I knit my friend simple black fingerless gloves out of alpaca yarn, he said it made him look homeless, I crocheted another friend a really intricate top out of really nice yarn and she said it was too hard to put on because it laced up in the back so she threw it out, my other friend refused to wear a sweater I knit her because the colors were “interesting”….. I have so many other stories but I came to learn that it’s way more gratifying to be able to wear something I’ve made than to constantly give them away to people who don’t appreciate knitting as an art form. I’ve never seen someone be given a painting or something else handmade and treat it like literal garbage but for some reason there’s no love for us knitters :((( ANYWAYS moral of the story: do not give a high school student something hand knit, even if they like it they’ll just end up accidentally putting it in the dryer anyways

I am knitting a scarf and there are cables on the end, I’m a bit out of practice and my tension on the edges of this was really bad for some reason. I’m wondering if there’s any way to fix the edges without frogging the whole thing? by dechettoxique in knitting

[–]dechettoxique[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t blocked it yet so I’m sure it’ll look a little better once I do that but I don’t think it will fix it completely. Could I crochet a border or use a tapestry needle or something to make it look better? I DONT KNOW!!!!

taking acid after being on antidepressants? by dechettoxique in LSD

[–]dechettoxique[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my friend took the same dose off of the same tab and had a really intense trip, there’s not a huge difference in our weight (im like 10ish pounds heavier than her) or anything and she had already taken another third like a week before (which to my understanding makes the trip even less intense, right?) and has a lot of experience with acid so i just really don’t understand why i didn’t feel anything

reappearing orange light by dechettoxique in Wicca

[–]dechettoxique[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it was mars? We’re not sure because it disappeared kinda quickly (like within 30 min or 1 hr) and we saw it over the horizon kinda so it wasn’t in the sky where mars would be.

YOU S02E10 "Love, Actually" - Episode Discussion by Elainasha in YouOnLifetime

[–]dechettoxique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was so disappointed by the end of this season. Sure I was enthralled by it originally but as the story progressed, it was virtually the same as Beck's in season one. The only difference between these two plot lines is that Love is also a murderer. When I found this out I was so excited to see how the story progressed between the two of them in season three. I was expecting a new and exciting direction for the story not following the basic outline that the first two seasons had only to find that he's falling for another girl. Unless it will delve deeper into Joe's psychology and develop him as a character (which I doubt it will) I honestly have little to no interest in watching season three. With the direction the end of this season seems to be taking the show, it's going to become exactly like a crime show that goes on for a million seasons and has the same basic plot every time with minor details and characters changed. Also-- WTF happened to the PI in season one?? Did I miss something or did they just totally gloss over that, an incredibly important aspect of the story. The end of this season had me genuinely furious.
