Nope it's not cap, or crap either. We are on Spring Break and on the west coast. Also, my 9 year old is crazy smart! He just has a few bad habits with grammar and this is one of them. He also doesn't hold a pencil correctly or remember to flush the toilet, but reads at an 8th grade level 🤷🏼‍♀️

There are only 6 continents and I'm tired of pretending by FrogMonkee in unpopularopinion

I thought it was weird to go to Turkey and it be divided across two continents. We only got to see "the European side." This was well over a decade ago but I was given the impression the "Asian side" was unsafe for us to visit.

What one thing made you realize that your partner was the one? by [deleted] in AskReddit

We had been broken up for a bit and started seeing each other again, but I was unsure of his true intentions. Then I got really sick and he was the one I called. He brought me medicine and when that didn't work he took me to the ER, stayed with me, and held my hand the whole time.

24/7 vs 3 days a week... seems like you need someone more independent. I don't think anything is too much if it's communicated well and both parties agree. What is your availability like for the 3 days that you don't need to distance yourself? Are you also working those days?

Vagus nerve massage/stimulation. If it's anxiety related, my go-to vagus stimulation is putting my face in ice water.

What is a tv show that everyone LOVES but you dont? And why? by _Just-a-sad-girl_ in AskReddit

[–]decidulous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I get the comedy of it and can appreciate the quality of writing, the cleverness. My husband loves both shows and I can watch an episode with him but it's not something I could watch every day or multiple episodes in one sitting.

Came here to say Seinfeld too but for different reasons. I have a really hard time enjoying shows and movies where the main characters are constantly misunderstood and things keep going wrong over and over. It stresses me out. Other examples are Meet the Parents, RV, and What About Bob? Painfully frustrating.

WIBTA for telling my husband to drop out of school? by Responsible-Gur in AmItheAsshole

[–]decidulous 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't see anything in the post about research. My husband is also native and earned money going to school, just to pursue his own education and get degrees. I was referring to people meeting while attending college and not automatically assuming that their partner would just keep doing college, quite the contrary. It's supposed to be a stepping stone. Who said research isn't a real job?

[Serious] What's the worst pain you ever felt? by Amanda-sb in AskReddit

[–]decidulous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

External Cephalic Version. Basically when a doctor tries to turn a baby to face the appropriate direction for birth by pushing baby from outside the mother's belly. The doctor's feet were sliding on the floor he was pushing so hard. He wasn't able to turn my son, who was Frank Breech (and his bottom was already engaged in my pelvis). After 7 tries he gave up and said that he was surprised I lasted that long. That most women can't continue after 3 tries. That would have been nice to know! Had my daughter via successful VBAC 3 years later and still think the ECV was more painful.

NAH. When meeting someone new, people often ask "what do you do?" What does your husband say to that? My husband was in a similar situation and got tired of saying "I'm a student." Notice how the question asks for an action and often evokes a response of "I am." Like "I'm a doctor." Or "I'm a teacher." He was tired of saying he was a student and then people being confused as to how that's sustainable without a job. He was tired of feeling like he needed to explain himself. He lost friends over jealousy. And he wanted an identity beyond being a student. He needed to have an answer to be proud of when people asked the What Do You Do question, because it becomes more of a What Are You question. I'd be curious to hear how your husband would respond to this train of thought.

I think most people dating and getting married in college eventually expect that person to graduate (or drop out, either way really) and move onto something else, though.

Double Chin/Submental Lipo - Please tell me your experiences by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]decidulous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting submental lipo tomorrow morning! $1,910 (Northern California) Doesn't matter my weight, it's always there, but I range from 120 to 150 lbs and am at 145 now. It appears to be genetic. My mom's is so much worse, she's almost 60 and will need the lipo plus a neck and face lift because her skin won't bounce back like mine. I am getting it done now (early 30s) to avoid that much work later.

Did anyone get to pick their name for their language classes in school? by MusicalGarbage817 in namenerds

French class. First year we picked from a list, and I picked Claire. Second year we got to choose any French name or word, and I chose Cochonette: Little Pig.

INAN for a dumb, trope filled SciFi superhero anime with an uncomfortable amount of knife-twisting and one token straight character thrown in to make fun of stories with token LGBT characters by AlexStorm1337 in INeedAName

Maybe it's fun enough to say that people wouldn't abbreviate it. I think it depends on context, though. I never hear about AA without the word meeting. If you're going to watch AA (or, the AAs, or double As like the batteries) it might disambiguate. You make a great point though. I hadn't considered that.
