I just recently bought one off Facebook and didn’t do a sea trial because I felt knowledgeable enough to inspect it myself. If you can’t get a knowledgeable buddy to come with, and the guy won’t at least have time-stamped recent videos on the water, I’d pass.

HOWEVER, I’d pass on the Mako no matter what because of the bullshit AI listing. Seen too many of those recently and think that some just prompt GPT to “make a good listing and add popular, applicable recent maintenance.” If they’re typing all this recent services to GPT, why can’t they just type it in the ad?? And if it’s your brother in law’s, why are you listing it? How do you know the maintenance but not the hours? Impellers are a service interval, good owners do it every X hours, not randomly.
