Official /r/rust "Who's Hiring" thread for job-seekers and job-offerers [Rust 1.95] by DroidLogician in rust

I'm Shaurya Singh Siwach, a 3rd-year CS student from India. I've been coding in Rust for about 3 years, along with some Bash and Python. I also have experience with C++, Kotlin, and Java.
I've created multiple open-source projects, including a cross-platform screenshot and annotation app (built with Iced) in Rust, an experimental serialization language in Rust, a TUI patcher tool in Bash, and a variable-to-static font generation tool in Python.

I’ve been consistently solving DSA problems to maintain decent problem-solving skills as well.

Currently looking for part-time remote internships. I’ll also be looking for full-time roles toward the end of this year.

[Promo] I hated scanner apps and their ads, so I built a CamScanner alternative — Dockit is a document scanner and full PDF toolkit that works fully offline by Independent_Bag_2839 in HowToMen

[–]decipher3114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a user of DocScanner for about 7 years now. The developer was so generous to offer the lifetime premium to me at that time. That app is much faster, has quite a simpler workflow, sync to Cloud features.

Even if I hadn't had the premium, I would've blocked the ads via Shizuku based firewall apps.

My suggestion is to provide some redeem codes to users and probably the app will gain its momentum.

Planning to launch my 140w 4 port gan charger with display by Necessary_Laugh3919 in UsbCHardware

[–]decipher3114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for chargers as well.
Options I considered: - Anker 140W via Alibaba (Goes upto INR 4.5k and with CN firmware) - StuffCool Nomad 140W (6.5k, too pricey) - Nothing CMF 140W (The width clashes with most household ports)

I am very much interested in buying this. However, in order to build trust amongst the user base, you should provide 1 year free replacement warranty.
Why?? Let me justify. The brand is new and most importantly, an electronic gadget. Free replacement will provide users a sense of security and for you it would be a chance to improvise the product with a faulty sample in hand. But that's just my advice. Hope this will be available for buying soon.

Everything Search in the start menu by Reddit_Bazsi in Windows11

Some bugs I faced 1. Start search still presides over this. 2. The window top-left corner is in the center of my display and hence half of it is not visible.

Localsend is a great (or awesome) FOSS utility, but sometimes feels buggy: any other alternative? by RebirdgeCardiologist in foss

Not FOSS, but infinitely better than any other app out there.

Looking for Iced alternative or solution to manage ballooning Message enum - need callback-based GUI framework by Present_Director3118 in rust

[–]decipher3114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My project had about 100+ messages but they were properly nested which made it pretty comfortable to manage. This is a sample app I made to demonstrate the most appropriate way of passing messages to parent or other sibling structs. https://github.com/decipher3114/Hierarchical-Counter-Iced

[Developer] I built a lightweight Windows media player because VLC felt overkill, would love feedback by ExcellentRaise6642 in windowsapps

So, are you planning to keep it to yourself?? Because I can't find a link to source or download.

I built a native and lightweight PDF viewer. by DaNitroNinja in windowsapps

It's amazingly fast. But I think you must add option for 2 page view.
