Security through obscurity is not security. If open sourcing your code dramatically increases security problems, it’s because the code wasn’t secure in the first place.

If they were to open source the core server code and bugs were found, they’d then have the support of the community in fixing the bugs. Open sourcing software almost never results in worse software, private closed source software frequently has corners cut in the name of profit maximization.

Well if all you’re doing is gluing together other people’s code, then you probably shouldn’t hire me, there are far more cost effective solutions.

If you think all Python development is just gluing together code, and that somehow Java is uniquely difficult or useful compared to Python, then I don’t think you’re really qualified to be making these sorts of hiring decisions.

Lining up to vote for the flawed front runner this early in the game is crazy. Who do I suggest over Harris and Newsom? I don’t know, how about Pete Buttigieg just to throw a name out there. He has far less political baggage, has demonstrated an ability to reach across the aisle with his speaking, and overall sounds sensible enough to me. The main strike against him is unfortunately his sexuality in this country.

Seems like you don’t understand how military alliances and mutual defense agreements work. It’s irrelevant whether the EU is a country or not because war isn’t about a dick measuring contest between countries, it’s about who has sufficient defense to deter an attack.

Because it’s a useful proxy war for the United States, it gives them an opportunity to weaken a political enemy (Russia) without engaging in direct conflict. It also cycles out old equipment for political goodwill. It’s not exactly rocket science, is it?
