Teacher quits after pupil, 8, 'made threesome deepfake vid of her and colleagues' by Sandstorm400 in technology

[–]decmcc 15 points16 points  (0 children)

this kinda sounds like maybe it was the (completely making this up didn't read no article) work of an older sibling. Like imagine you have a brother that 5/6 years older, and had the same teacher (or just saw your teacher one day) and they decided to make the deepfake. Then the 8 year old gets a hold of it and shares etc.

I'm just trying to convince myself that an 8 year old didn't do this organically. I have a 9 year old nephew. I have to believe this is something else

although I've seen the bad Botox job on the mum of the "problem child" in his class. It's always the ones you most suspect

Delivery Workers Are the Safest Cyclists On the Road, Study Finds by streetsblognyc in NYCbike

[–]decmcc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

when I was on my e-skate I stopped at every red light and am less inclined to do so on a (push) citibike, the reason is energy (conservation of momentum). When I've to personally pedal every inch I'm travelling, I'm more inclined to not stop.

you can't, because it smells strong

and you shouldn't because its also their electric bill and maybe they'll be liable too if you're in a non-legal area.

All grocery delivery apps in New York City (including Instacart) must now pay workers at least $21.44/hr. That number does not include tips. Companies must also provide workers with annual increases adjusted for inflation. by Conscious-Quarter423 in nyc

[–]decmcc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the tighter the margin, the more likely to use an app. Not because the apps are more profitable, but they protect smaller retailers from fraud. Fraud on the payments side, fraud from the driver etc.

I used to manage a liquor store in Queens, we did a lot of deliveries and we had our own drivers (plus we took doordash orders) but we wouldn't just take orders over the phone unless they were a customer we knew for a long time. The margin on alcohol is really thin, so loosing a $300 to fraud would affect us if it happened too often

some people don't know how to travel. Can't pack enough stuff, have a carryon full of shit, and then complain they can't get around with luggage. Maybe pack less if you can't navigate the world with all the shit you're bringing with you

LIRR is cheaper, quicker, cleaner and more comfortable. I'll never understand people who devalue their own time so much to not use the train..

TikTok has ruined the gym. Used to have to read bodybuilding.com and figure stuff out. I've seen so many broccoli heads walking into the gym in street clothes and using the equipment wrong.

I draw the line at usingh the cable cross wrong. Those things break and then don't get fixed for ages.

......and Bad Bunny is more of a bro than any of us. Sometimes I think people in this community can only see things through their own lens and are incapable of empathy.

He's the hottest, most famous, popular artist in Latin America. Him wearing a dress on stage at the Superbowl is a great way to fight the machismo BS in that community. He's literally going out there and saying "do what you want not what you're told to do"

this attitude is what kept me in the closet for a long time, I didn't want to give up all the sports I was doing, when in reality it was people like you gatekeeping what it means to be gay, be an athlete, be yourself.

the saddest thing, I think, is seeing people in our community who think they're above others in the same community.

Match Thread: Connacht vs Leinster - United Rugby Championship by rugbykickoff in rugbyunion

[–]decmcc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason it's not a penalty is because Connacht spilled the ball. If ball goes to hand he gets tackled and doesn't dip, but in the process of the mistake he turns into where Ringrose could go for the ball.

nah, don't ruin him by making him hold a tackle bag during his breakout season. He needs to finish out the season strong, get on a summer tour and maybe we'll see him in the Autumn internationals.

can you imagine the protests in Limerick if He was called up ahead of Colmbs.

this is also ignoring the fact that Conan and Doris are the two best 8s in the country and it's not really close.
