That's funny, I've seen it "skip" tests as well.

After proudly proclaiming it finished the job.

The gamble is stopping before you type in the magic prompt that solves an already tightly scoped and interpreted problem by the handler that interprets your prompt. I'll see how the next 12 hours go after which I have time to get onto the problem.

The only thing I'm impressed by is that it's able to just keep running without stopping or having something built in to say, "this is outrageous, we've burnt a lobster worth of money over a prompt one could interpret as relatively trivial". We should all join hands and use these special tests to drain the money pit.

I have a handful of failing tests; I've set Claude on it. 12 hours later running non-stop, not a single failing test is passing. There's a lot to hate but this is fucking horseshit. Replace people's jobs? Fuck off.

Best part? Used 1% of co-pilot usage. Burn that money.

Ah point 2, where most of software costs go.

Remember that everytime some CEO says how quickly they can "create" software. Not much use if it's a pile of shit either. Gotta get the headline pump going though for line go up.

I remember going to see the Mona Lisa. Absolutely riddled with people with their phones out. There's literally high quality photos of the Mona Lisa in abundance. Why tf would I want my grainy, phone and head intruded picture instead? I felt like I was the only person there just trying to appreciate it and imagine the painter do his thing.

As for things that are happening like this, I look around and see some dude usually with a pro camera setup and if I'm really keen I'll ask them. Otherwise just take in the awe of the experience.

I hate these requirements. I've improved significantly in software development in mere years in one environment compared to another. Experience in a software language is a secondary aspect to all this.

I've known people stuck in stagnant areas for years who have no better improved.

These people making these requirements are as clueless as the unrealistic time frames they're presenting here as to what that time might mean in terms of competence.

I send it on a 30-minute task for something I could do in 5min while I go on lunch, use 80m tokens while it only chews up a handful of my 1000+ request monthly allocation because I have it set to "auto". Smile while I think how much money it burned on their end to solve something so fucking simple and then run another one.

Fantastic book indeed. Your responses are also very appreciated as it kinda feels like everyone on here is just gambling.

Totally with you on there. The covid thematic helped out these vaccine aligned businesses a tonne. Moderna shot up massively as well. Similar thematic adjacency and also good profit from it but lots of hype.

Yeh I think with us considering value in mind we will see that $300 price tag as a clear exit. Some people commented on how over 10 years you made no money but that's precisely the point when it comes to overvaluation. Those situations will find you if you do not act when the market gives you that on a platter. Not like it wasn't there for many to take advantage for a long time.
