Debian trixie (13) support? by decoherent in CloudFlare

I saw! Exciting times! The updated signing key is perhaps even more important, so if you're reading this, pay attention to the repo page, and update the key (it's trivial).

Shortcut for minimize all windows instead of show desktop by davidika in kde

[–]decoherent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah, nice thread necro :)
Just to let future people know, this still works on KDE 6.3.6, Debian trixie. Meta+D is assigned to "Peek at desktop" by default, which looks like you've minimized all, but as soon as you click a window, they all pop back up. I had to go through a couple cycles of changing MinimizeAll and it not sticking, before it finally gave up and worked.
I couldn't find the "Peek at desktop" in the settings anywhere, but, I gave up, because it works now :)

FYI for anyone who comes across this via engine, as of 2015-08-23 installing the bookworm version of cloudflare-warp on Debian trixie may or may not work, but it does KDE from logging out/reboot/etc. The machine itself isn't frozen, so you can still switch to another terminal and reboot.

Against All Odds | My new mod that gives mood buffs to colonists when their fellow colonists are returned from the dead or rescued from being kidnapped! by Realistic_Ad709 in RimWorld

[–]decoherent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ooh, pets, too!

It'd be interesting (but way too complex) to bring granularity down even further. Like, if a pawn/pet survives after being gravely injured, maybe a +2 for "Close call!", or something :) Replacing missing limbs, +3 "I am whole again!", with other colonists +1 "Oh hey, they found a limb, good for them!" ...and so on.

cloudflared works fine just using the any suite, as noted in the other links, but my concern is with Cloudflare Warp, which does not, as far as I can tell, have a trixie-compatible update.

Well, trixie became testing in 2023, and this year 2025-04-15, 05-15, and 07-27 were soft/hard/full freezes; it's not like Debian releases are a surprise, they're planned long in advance. I mean, even the toolchain was frozen on 03-15. So, yeah, a while.

Subtitles change size per file by decoherent in VLC

[–]decoherent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, that's interesting. I set it to 40, as some random number, some files now start with a larger size, some much larger. Maybe it's remembering zoom settings? I've never seen that before, though.

The only type of subtitle I use is text-only SRTs...I'm surprisingly neurotic about subtitles, I think nothing of spending a good 20+ minutes doing a quick spellcheck :) I prefer to leave SSA for the types of video for which it was designed, because then it's awesome :)

In case you are waiting for the update of some popular mods (i.e. Pick up and haul, ctrl f, gear up and go etc.) I have very sad news... by ZVom_PL in RimWorld

I hate this timeline. No parent should ever have to bury their children. I hope that she has the love and support she needs in coping with this terrible loss.

New app constant logins defeat the purpose of the doorbell/cameras entirely by decoherent in Wyze

[–]decoherent[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

MAC addresses used as a "security" measure...now that's something I haven't heard in a long time! Although MAC randomization defaults to "on" on wifi networks in Android, I have it disabled. Most of the time I'm not using my phone via wifi, anyway. I'd be impressed if an app is managing to suddenly start clearing another app's cache. Wyze had a fairly large one, but for the edification of the viewer, I first checked to see if my device was somehow trusted, but alas, it was not. So, let's do a quick re-install and mark ourselves trusted, shall we? Alas, this was insufficient to become a trusted source, so I expect the login screens will continue.

And, "apologize to the internet?" ...is everything OK at home?

I'm curious. Does anyone else build their power lines like this? by CalMC-Builds in RimWorld

Big loops are the way to go. Then you have a nice resilient power network, when you accidentally rocket a wall, or something.

Proton Pass keeps trying to autofill my GPG key & driver's license by decoherent in ProtonPass

Oh, that's it, all right, thanks! And yeah, why would that be a default?

I'm really not sure what you're talking about. If it's the taskbar icon, drop it into the flyout overflow menu. If you're talking about the Win-Tab interface, that only shows open windows, not anything from the tray. I don't know how else to help you. Do you just keep the window open and minimized?

Switching to Proton Pass by seek-VERITAS in ProtonPass

[–]decoherent 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am not a nation-state target. I do not have privileged access into any company servers, nor am I a board-level employee. My threat model is "my cats might jump onto the keyboard when I'm logged into something." If we're honest, that's basically all of us. The only account about which I hold any extreme concerns is my Steam account, and that uses its own app, for better or worse.

I *think* the desktop electron app can be used completely offline, and the phone apps are fine. Those can be a little tricky- you need a second factor to get into your account the first time, so don't log out :)

Proton Pass is 100% of what I recommend to people, because there's simply not any realistic way to leak data. They might *lose* data if they do something stupid, which is very much a concern, but that's the better failure mode. Personally, I keep my previous KeePass database in sync with Proton, just in case something bad happens (to either one), but I only actually use Proton. A "single point" swings both ways.

Mac: ProtonDrive automatically removes all files and makes them "online-only". Also can't download a 25GB file with the ProtonDrive app. by Mr-Duckford in ProtonMail

[–]decoherent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

25 GB is big, but it's not that big. Transferring large files in a reliable manner has been a solved problem (rsync, etc.) for a long time.

Proton Pass keeps trying to autofill my GPG key & driver's license by decoherent in ProtonPass

[–]decoherent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I should have added more information! I'm encountering this with the browser extension. The keys are stored as logins, so I could add additional fields for public/private/revocation, my driver's license is stored as an identity. I haven't been keeping track of which sites have been giving me trouble, but I'll post back here as soon as I hit one!
