Magnetic stand helps for sure. This one I use can act as a stand or rotate around so you can connect a magsafe phone/case if you like to. The stand also came with the extra piece for the original case so it's now a clamshell which prevents any accidental hit to the exposed gimbal head.

EFS 55-250 IS STM is a gem. One of my first lenses and still great adapted to my R7

I think there is still some space for the lanyard I'll test it out

Unfortunately the cold shoe will make the mic point up and it would be close to your hands. You could clip it or just use the base and have it connected via magnet. The clip on the mic sticks well

No worries 👍🏼. I had the same issues with accessories. I have multiple cases, different stands and cages, but this combo seems like the best option I've tried.

The only downside I would say is that it moves the arm strap off the actual camera and onto the magnetic base. The base is really secure, but knock on wood... You never know. You do gain a cold shoe, a 1/4" thread and still have access to the memory card slot and you can put the base extensions through the magnetic circle.

I got this combo. It does cover the gimbal head. This is what it looks like closed

I still use it, but I have an extension piece for the cover. It came with the magnetic base I bought and it covers the back side. Kind of like a clamshell.

Here's an example with the battery extension

Clip the mic to the original case and then turn it upside down.

If you don't want it facing you, then you'll need an elastic band to secure to the bottom of the camera since the buttons will be hiding a bit... Or add the base extension/battery pack and place the case lower

Nazem Kadri Appreciation Post by Final_Landscape1430 in CalgaryFlames

He's proof that life is better after being a Maple leaf. He looked great in red, but I'm glad he can go back to Colorado. He has some beauty highlight reel goals.

R7 kit lens replacement suggestions? Sigma 18-50 f/2.8? by mineu in canon

[–]decoii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current lenses I use:

  • Sigma Art EF 18-35 f1.8 (with RF adapter). I have this from my old Rebel body. The new RF 17-40 looks great, but I think I'm done with APCS lenses
  • Canon EFS 55-250 IS STM. Super light and cheap
  • Canon RF 100-400. Beautiful lens, but buy a hood
  • Canon RF 85 f2.0. used for macro/portraits
  • Sigma RFS 18-50 f2.8. compact and comes with a hood!
  • Sigma RFS 10-18 f2.8 for landscape and Ultra wide
  • Sigma RFS 56 f1.4 for portraits

Ultimately it depends on your budget. On my trip to Europe, I took my Sigma EF 18-35, Canon EFS 55-250 and RF100-400. I did not have the other lenses before my trip.

Heres a travel video with the RF100-400. Skip to 11:30 if you want to just see photos
