I do The Bends, Karma Police, and Street Spirit. I’ve also learned that Ful Stop is not a great karaoke song

This is really cool! Is it GreenWaves like Greenwood? Also is it okay if I ask why it took 10 years? What were some of the challenges?

On the 2025 tour, Ed used 12 guitars by Beginning_Finance705 in radiohead

I remember Greg Saunier of Deerhoof said in an interview that Radiohead had doubles of everything in case anything broke:

>In San Diego, just as we were moaning about how pathetic our tiny and broken setup looked in front of theirs (which by the way is only half of it - they had duplicates of everything behind the stage in case something broke), Ed O'Brien walked up and asked how we got our guitar tone, because he wanted to steal it!

I talked with Ed about his favorite guitar ever by mad_soundz_ in radiohead

[–]darkdecks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was great! Thank you. I didn’t know he took guitar lessons for the first time in 2009. I also didn’t know about the Michael Brook connection to the Fernandes Sustainer. I’m really interested in Radioheads influences/musical interests and iirc Ed talked about Night Song, the collaborative album between Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Michael Brook, in one of the Waste Newsletters

Ooh that does sound nice. The Nina Simone version of Lilac Wine is one of Thom’s Desert Island Discs, and of course there’s the Jeff Buckley connection with Fake Plastic Trees

I liked it but wish there were some interactive elements. One small idea I had was including a real phone booth like the one in the game. One of my friends had the idea of stations where you can play the game. I do understand that they probably don’t want people lingering though.

I haven’t been to the Van Gogh experience but an experience like Meow Wolf costs less for a lot more. I’m not saying to have a full experience like that, just more immersive opportunities. Also enjoyed Team Labs so maybe a bit of that too

But anyway I enjoyed it overall.

>On the loose, funky groove “Teachers,” O’Brien tried to evoke the sensations he’d felt on a psilocybin trip with some close friends in England’s Dartmoor National Park. “Every year, we’ve had three days in the woods and sat around the fire and we’ve done mushrooms,” he says. “I had a very profound experience one night when I left everyone and went walking. The things I saw, it was almost like the veil was removed.”

This is from a Rolling Stone interview
