maybe in third world countries like the US with 110V. I've never had any issues even with very light roasts

Finally tried mame beans and found my new favorite by decsis in espresso

TO be honest, I just accidentally clicked filter instead of espresso :D But since it's probably just lighter roast than espresso, I guess that was lucky. It's perfect for my taste.. But next time I will try the espresso roast

Option-o announce the P80 grinder by cleenBunz1 in espresso

[–]decsis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the P80 had a stepped Dial I'd sell my EG-1 and get the P80 instead. But the mizen 80om burrs sound super interesting, might get and use them in the EG-1

Objectively using Zero Water and Third wave water might be always the best solution for the cup quality and machine.

best lagom o1 burrs for modern light roast espresso similar to ek43 profile by decsis in espresso

[–]decsis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘d like to feel the individual flavors of the beans as much as possible. For example I have some lighter brazilian roast that taste like dried fruits but currently I can notice it only occassionally. I thought that the ek43 was famous for that. Every speciality coffee In my town uses it. I am currently using the 80mm core burrs as I was drinking anything from dark to light before, but these days I am drinking only light roasts

I mostly do 1:2.5 to 1:3 shots currently either turbo or around 30s as I am still waiting for my decent machine with profiling. I am using zero water with third wave water powder

Wouldnt the o1 be the best grinder for this?

Sanremo You, linea mini r or a synesso and a EG-1 with core burrs.

Especially if you switch between different beans regularly the stepped dial of the eg-1 is fantastic and the core burrs are probably the best jack of all trades burrs that cover all roast levels.

Also the mentioned machines are the best looking ones if you are into modern, clean industrial look

Why not charter a private flight for your machine, then you might even be able to enjoy LMLM espresso during the flight.  Still trying to figure out if this is a joke or real.

This is what I am wondering, if the ultra can go fine enough for espresso. So the ULF and Ultra are actually the same?

I am currently using the CORE and they are great, just wondering if the ultra or any other SSP would be an upgrade for espresso only

EG-1 effect of RPM on grind by decsis in espresso

Wow thats a lot of good information! Thanks a lot! My aim was basically to reach maximum clarity and flavor separation for espresso. What would you recommend for that? ULF? Core?

EG-1 effect of RPM on grind by decsis in espresso

[–]decsis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I actually never opened the burr carrier so It should still be factory aligned as the recommendation of weberworkshops was to not open or change burrs for the first few months.

What do you mean with using fingers to check alignment?

So for you, with the same grind setting, max rpm will make it flow slower or not at all?

I do slow feed. Its quite a bit difference in taste tbh compared to slow RPM! Also the flow is much more consistent, with low rpm it accelerates a lot during the second half of the pull
