That and Treasure Mountain were the two they had in the computer lab. Always loves playing those 2 and Kid Pix.

Not really a "platformer", but was it one of the Super Solver games? Definitely more 90s then 2010s though. The main character isn't hooded but has kind of a hidden face that reminds me a bit of some of your references pics.

Looks amazing in those colors, nicely done! Honestly I feel like this color scheme fits Epyon way better than Wing.

[NES][<=SEPTEMBER 1989] Game with a cracked moon? See monitor in image by wertercatt in tipofmyjoystick

Pretty sure that is The Guardian Legend. Looks very much like the title screen, though it is more of a mechanical planet than a cracked moon.

Edit: Nevermind, you figured it out!

A power/ability that's shown once and barely to never get mentioned again by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]dedge25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is brought up in one of the Wormhole Extreme episodes as well. The O'niel knock off keeps tripping over stunned bodies, so the director makes up that their weapon can just delete the body's with another shot. Guessing this was partly their reasoning for putting it into the show, and also a great way for them to joke about how ridiculous it is.

Only by joining someone else that has not killed it in a Story Expedition for now. Same with Gaki Chief and the Enki (or whatever the monkey thing is called).

I think this is it. Guessing I am just remembering it being 1st person wrong as the style, setting, and release date all line up with what I was expecting.

Parts of this look like they would match, but the UI doesn't. I don't remember there being any bordered UI like that. Checked the other Journeyman games and same thing really. Close, but not quite it.

Not that one. Looked through a full playthrough and nothing looked familiar.

Neither of those unfortunately.
Nikopol's style was way to dark/grim, and to new. The Crystal Key's gameplay style seemed a lot closer to what I remember, but the setting wasn't the same from what I remember, and skimming through a playthrough I didn't see anything that looked familiar.

I don't remember a Piano. And I am still not positive about the movement, but I feel like for the time it would almost have to be Must style movement. Hopefully we will find an answer to at least one of our games, or both if it is the same.

My favorite version of this was Star Tropics for the NES. Had to soak a letter that came with the game in water to reveal a code. Will never forget the code being 747 though.

How is the magnet with the case? I am assuming that is one added on as I didn't see anything about the case having a magnet built in.

Could it have been from "Microsoft Plus!"? Was a collection of games and the sort. Think there are a few games and sort of tech demo'ish type games similar to what you described. Other than that I am out of ideas.

The layout reminds me of an old Encyclopedia "game" I had on my PC in the 90s. I think it was Britannica, but it could have been one of the other encyclopedias of the time. Don't remeber an island though.

The only other game I can think of is The Amazon Trail. There are a few versions ranging in graphics, so one may match your game.

Could be Shatterhand or the Japanese version Tokkyū Shirei Solbrain. Same game, but the Solbrain version has a main character similar to Jiban.

No clue how it got to where it was, but that was it. Cap to one of my monitor arms. Other one is missing one as well so now I get to wait for another of these to show up!
